The thing about power, is that it is not just about what gets done. It’s also about what it silences and routes around. What doesn’t get done. What was harder than it needed to. … So the “record” as read in the marks are an incomplete trace. Like tree rings, that can tell of droughts and other stresses. But incompletely.
