Oh, just an addition: i'm not looking for a job or anything, I'm just really proud of my website.

I just rebuilt my personal website. I've put a lot of time into it, so I would love it if you'd check it out.

https://oversoft.nl

I aimed it to not be the standard "hi, I'm a coder" website and I wanted to reflect my love of Italy. I think that worked out well.

I know, I’ve tried quitting Twitter before, but too many people moved back there to let it go completely.

This time, I’ll try to make it stick.

Most people who moved back, I rarely speak to anymore (maybe they quit too? I don’t know).

Maybe my occasional rambling here will attract more civil discussions instead of the blue tick parade.

I’ve finally decided to delete the Twitter app. Every time I get mixed up in a discussion, even technical discussions, almost like some sort of rule, somebody is swearing at me in 3 or 4 messages.

I’ve had enough. Elon Musk killed Twitter to make his own echo chamber. The bad people stuck around and the good people moved away.

I’d like to quit social media completely, but I still enjoy the occasional civil discussion. It’s impossible there.

I turned our dog into an 80’s icon.

If you run Home Assistant via HAOS or a supervisor (basically anything else than a Docker install), update NOW.

Also: don't just port-forward, use a proper VPN if you want to contact your home from the internet.

Fucking finally! Successful nitrogen pressure test @ 30 bar and successful commissioning.

4 weeks of work and having no idea what I was doing other than some “HVACR Videos” on Youtube.

(Yes, it has been signed off by a HVAC professional)

Everyone seems to be introducing themselves, so I’ll join in on the introductions.

I’m a software and hardware developer and company owner currently mainly focussed on narrowcasting systems design.

I also vet products for our clients to make sure they have (at least) a basic security layer implemented and are safe to include in their network.

You may know me from the group that took down John McAfee's hardware wallet (BitFi).

I also exposed FootfallCam and associated companies (NurseryCam, Magic Mirror) to have products that severely lacked security measure and were basically open portals to company networks and cameras pointed at children. This story made it to the mainstream press.

I’m currently also attending university (Open University in the Netherlands).

Late 30-ish, married, no children, have a funky dog.

Very interested in:
- Green power technology (mostly what you can use at home)
- Gaming (factory type games mostly: Minecraft, Factorio, Satisfactory)
- Music production (modular synths, old Moogs, but also digital)
- Travel
- Personal finances
- Too many other things to mention

(Rewrote the introduction to include the "you may know me" section)
