Told Alexa to play Countryline radio, a fairly average country station in the UK. It misheard, and played P10 country...which, despite being in Norwegion, is actually a great country vibe! Other recommendations also more than welcome.

hay all: a conversation I had recently got me thinking about a task list and timers app for blind professionals. Thinking of lawyers, but really anyone that has a professional need to keep task lists moving and record how much time they've spent on tasks, perhaps for those who charge by the hour for consultancy or project work. If you're in that camp, what would you want such an app to include?

god damn, playing bass is a good time lol. Should have gotten one of these years ago. The active circuit makes it even more fun. I'm running it into a Fender Deluxe reverb at present which is probably unwise but its fine for the moment

hi all! I have just entered the bass guitar world with a Sire P7. any recommendations for good sounding and accessible Bass amp sims/other must-have plugins for bass?

This human is like 20, blind, going to law school...but has almost no concept of how to use a laptop. Cut and paste was afairly new concept to her even! When done with her laptop she'd just close it and then not know that her batteyr was basically done. So many fundamental concepts just completely pass her by. Literally never seen this before in someone so young and its absolutely horifying.

hay humans: I'm setting up windows 11 for a technically-inept blind university student. I don't suppose anyone has written a guide of how to fix windows 11's most frustrating stupidities from an accessibility angle? I can remember some of them but it'd be handy to have a reference.

can anyone vouch for this? Connecting unknown apps to my WhatsApp is a scary prospect

Hi all: obscure IOS audio question. I need an app which can record in high quality, ,which has a gain control and which can share out easily. Just Press Record does not have variable gain. I'm using TW Record at the moment, but it doesn't have the simple, double tap to start, double tap to stop thing that JPR has. It also reroutes speach to the earpiece when recording starts so its difficult to stop recording without that shortcut. Are there any apps out there that can do all of these?

So @Estrella and I made the paper! Ok it was only the Bermudian paper but still. We're talking about bringing the blind sport Showdown to the island and how it has been received: https://www.royalgazette.com/general/news/article/20261008/vision-bermuda-gears-up-for-showdown/

Introducing Showdown to Bermuda, as the first VI sport the island has ever tried. Getting 90 KG of Showdown table baught, paid for and imported took some doing, but initial indications ar ethat people are going to love it

Apparently Ramblio has a desktop app now, if anyone fancied trying it out on a different platform. Community is what we make it, yall.

Jamming with @Estrella, myself on guitar and another friend using brushes on a Cajon and a kick pedal. Was a good time!

Went for my exam today, after it'd already been canceled once. Reader didn't show. Fuck Pearson. I'm done this certification is simply not worth it. And non-disabled folks just don't have to deal with this shit.

One more from last night, this time a 90s country classic. Also if anyone's a lightfoot fan, their version of Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald was amazing and I may post that later as well, just don't want to spam folks.

Before I get into some serious studying: Come join me for a bit of the a capella group Home Free we saw last night. These guys are unreal!

One of the most incomprehensible English dialects I have ever heard: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jyyywh6dqcA

Random query for anyone in the know: I'm doing a course which uses embedded videos. They appear to use Vimio to serve the actual content. I can use some of the shortcuts e.g. left and right arrows, to jump through the video, but can't access the playback speed menu or do anything that doesn't have a keyboard shortcut associated. Is there any way to get access to that via the embed?

hmmm. apparently I can't attach audio to a post if the audio is an M4a? that's..unfortunate.

@TheQuinbox hay hay :). still having trouble updating paperback. Had to download it last time but even the newest one it won't let me update?

Currently testing out an AI-powered contracts drafting and research tool. If you're a lawyer in the UK/EU you've probably heard of it. Can I log-in using JAWS? Nope, because the log-in thing is a mouseover event which triggers the opening of a list you need to choose something from. To be fair to them, they said they'd fix it pretty quick once I told them. But...how do you claim to have done an access audit and still fail that badly?
