@lexfri seems like lexontech is blocked by my school’s wifi as “phishing” for some reason. I’ve reported it as inaccurate to the service they use (FortiGuard) but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@lexfri today’s Lexicogs was pretty gneiss!

@siracusa Would it be possible to add a feature to Hyperspace that tells me the total lifetime amount of space it’s reclaimed? Presumably, if this data isn’t kept right now it wouldn’t include data from before a given update but I think it would be neat to get an idea (and to show off to others) how much space this awesome utility saves :D

For the record, I have not and will never use generative machine learning (“AI”). Including “agents”, image generation, chatbots, apple intelligence, etc

None of my (mostly non-techie!) irl friends use them. Nobody in my family (mostly non-techies, one former internet engineer) uses them — and all of them actively don’t want them on their devices.

Like. I am so tired of generative AI being such a topic of discussion. It’s exhausting. And frankly I can’t wait for the AI bubble to pop. Hopefully it so utterly destroys LLMs and generative AI that they stop existing

Hey, Alan Dye? Instead of trying to force the Mac into Liquid Glass, have you considered a different liquid? Maybe something *lickable*? Like… water… maybe call it Aqua…

What I’m saying is, with the new graphical capabilities of modern Macs, a refreshed Aqua (with its candy-like buttons, check boxes, sliders, and scroll bars) would be a delight to look at and use.

Maybe do that instead of the atrocity that is Liquid Glass on macOS

Playing @lexfri's Mini on https://lex.games and was *shocked* to learn that, according to 5 across, today is some year between 1971 and 1997! :P

@lexfri Hi, I was playing today’s By A Vowel and it said I completed it before I got one of the words. Then, I left that game and went back and the answer (which I hadn’t figured out) was revealed.

Is there any way I can sent logs or smth to diagnose that bug?

@MonaApp any plans to allow us to view Threads accounts inside Mona? Right now, tapping/clicking on one opens the webpage instead of being in the app.

Also, donations for Gaza are doing next to nothing. Nothing can get in to Gaza right now due to an Israeli blockade. Donations to bail funds and the West Bank will do much more good right now.

Israel is currently committing genocide, and anyone who doesn’t see and oppose that in every way they can is complicit. Boycott the companies that support Israel (See https://bdsmovement.net/get-involved/what-to-boycott for the highest-impact; other boycott targets are McDonalds, Coca-Cola, etc). Participate in protests and organising. Call your representatives and tell them that genocide is not OK, no matter who does it. And don’t turn away from the crimes against humanity.

@macstories Your mastodon instance doesn’t seem to work in @MonaApp’s communities view; it shows an error:
