I cannot handle the amount of good news coming in (and certainly not when thinking about how much work has to be done)

so I'll just let it wash over me for a minute

but also they're calling it for El-Sayed which is fucking AMAZING

but on the other hand, I did end up practicing a lot today and I think I improved on sliding my chords up and down the strings, a move I've been struggling with for a while.

EDIT: I actually meant to say *across* the strings; I've been doing alright at going up and down the neck for a while now (not perfect but my hand keeps the same shape decently well!)

Also trying to learn this apparently weirdo F chord (index barre on G, B, and E strings on the 5th fret, pinky on A on 8th, ring on D on the 7th, and middle on B on the 6th) and I'm getting better at it.  It's *basically* a barre C shape except I never play the C that way, I just play what my friend called the cowboy C...

But doing an F with a barre on the 8th is too high for this specific song...

EDIT: I suspected that was just a 'regular' barre C shape and that I was doing it properly and that it's just... I haven't practiced that shape and yet, that seems correct.  So I've just gotta practice that shape and add it into my exercises...

yeah, I think I'm gonna go ahead and stand with my assertion that the recipe for a good day includes *not* hitting yourself in the face with a guitar and busting your lip open.

so tomorrow, hopefully, is a better day...

suggesting that people give up their ability to learn a skill in order to instead rent it out from an unauditable, unknowable, unquestionable third party that has disempowered people who already have that skill

is not fucking democracy

that is the opposite of democracy

that is creating a central, unquestionable authority that is not beholden to you.

also?  "democratizing skills"?  You do not have a *right* to the skills of other people.  So even if this authoritarian style enclosure wasn't already making a mockery of the term, the fact that it's literally built on the stolen labor of the individuals who it is disempowering (by removing their ability to gain pay for their work) IS NOT DEMOCRACY.

well, since it seems like it's been a month or so...

hiii hiii (boost if you would not mind); I was @aud, but for a variety of reasons the move had issues and so I've lost quite a few mutuals!  So if we were mutuals and you're seeing this and you're still interested in *being* mutuals, please check and add me!

Likewise, if you feel this is a good time to say goodbye to the good ship Audrey (why am I a boat), well, that's your decision and I understand (I am not always *pleasant* or hinged on here).

Anyway, boosts appreciated!  I figure it's been a month and I can't re-trigger the move on my prior server so sending out a second notice is probably the best I can do.

Thank you!
