Remember that composite video software decoder thing I made to teach myself DSP? It turns out a guy in my city got fascinated enough by it and wanted to give me a tape with a distorted recording that some decoders have trouble with to see what mine will do, and "a PAL -> SECAM transcoder" that he didn't need.

The transcoder turned out to be this beast of a video mixer. I guess I do analog video now... By the way, my decoder is somewhat crap with signal this clean.

Kalt und warm. Heute morgen war es mal wieder arschkalt und dazu noch Nieselregen. Ich habe zum ersten Mal die langen Handschuhe angezogen.
Als ich dann allerdings in #lidkoping angekommen bin, war es Zeit für den Sonnenhut. Denn mit Sonne ist es gleich viel wärmer und glücklicher. In der Fußgängerzone von Lidköping gibt es schön bemalte Wege. Und am Wasser einen Kayakomat zum selbst Ausleihen von Kayaks. Die Kayaks waren aber sehr verstaubt, scheinen nicht häufig benutzt zu werden. #radreise

Ich hab - leider - gerade einen Blick in die Wettervorhersage geworfen und jetzt ist mir schlecht.

Eine Woche deutlich über 30°C. Und das im Juni.

Das heißt, da kommen noch mindestens 8 Wochen potentiell mit ähnlichen Temperaturen.

Ich weiß nicht, wie Menschen das noch feiern können. Für Menschen wie mich bedeutet das nämlich Existenzangst. Vor allem, weil natürlich ausgerechnet jetzt barrierearme Schwimmbäder zu haben.

My Modest Proposal re: social media remains unchanged: if you're going to lop off access for an arbitrary amount of the bottom of the actuarial scale, do the same at the top. No under 16s in the UK? Great!, so long as no over-65s either (80.9 year avg lifespan, minus 16).

A social media ban won't fix online harms.

That's because the business model creating them is left untouched.

It just makes every user do an ID check to prove they’re over 16.

Instead we should tackle the attention capture economy of targeted ads and personalised algorithms.
