Folks, I also hate finding out that something I do supports causes I am against.
It actually happens a lot. It sucks.
But you know what I don't do? I don't get angry at the person who informed me. In fact, I *thank* them for, you know, helping me out.
I stop directing my money to those terrible causes.
This is pretty basic stuff here.
I'd be laughing my ass off at the very notion LLMs are "super intelligence" if I wasn't so angry that so many people around me don't *know* that it's utter bullshit.
It's too depressing even to laugh about.
It sure as shit doesn't seem like there gonna be majority pushback, so we're in the slide for the longhaul. I need to find a way to find this all funny or I'm gonna a blow a gasket.
I think I'll have to resort to merciless mockery of it (and it's enablers).
So, me being me, when I use the phrase "dope" as in "awesome", I spell it "doap" (rhymes with soap). I've done this for a great many years.
I kinda disappeared off the radar when I was very ill with #covid, right into #LongCovid (you are still masking, right?), and lost touch with a lot of formerly close people.
Recently I've been in contact with several old pals, and each one at some point used my spelling. A silly thing, but deeply meaningful - they're giving me a sign like they remember *me*.
I'm testing out a wireless #IEM system, and figured I'd start with measuring the #antennas.
First off, the body pack (receiver) SWR is fairly poor because the frequency centre is way too
high, starting past the usable range of the system (photo 1).
Junk! Or is it?
I placed the antenna close to my body, and the frequency centre slid down to where I'd expect it and the SWR improved (photo 2).
This is interesting! These bodypacks are often worn - surprisingly - on the body, so it would make sense to tune the antenna to compensate for this.
However, sometimes an IEM pack might be attached to a guitar strap, or sitting on a table, or even hidden in a set piece.
I now need to test for the difference in reception between open-air and close to the body.

I've turned off auto updates on #grapheneOS because there is no such thing as ethical or acceptible slop in "secure" software.
@GrapheneOS has turned itself into an untrustworthy joke. This, I didn't see coming.
A language model will never weep at a beautiful melody for a language model is software.
The more I think about it... Windows 7 isn't all that bad.
Y'all know about #ZeroBoys, right?
Welcome to the vicious circle!
"Drink this, it's good for you. Everyone drinks it."
"No way, that's fucking Draino!"
"No, it's something different. Don't worry. Have a gulp!"
"If I even take a sip of that poison, I will permenantly burn the lining of my esophagus and more."
"Look, I've been chugging this stuff for months, and all the blood I excrete is caused by the covid vaccine, actually."

If you think having a lil slop in all the world's important software if fine actually, you are wrong. Dead wrong. You will see.
Well, back to the flip phone it is I guess.
Anyone have any unsmart phones they recommend?
#QueerTheatre almost without exception is the best theatre.
I love #theatre, but I REALLY love theatre that upsets bigots.
I posted a #skillShare thread months ago and thought I didn't get any responses. Turns out I got several but I never saw them, and the persons likely think I ghosted them :(
Wow, shit - I just found out I've missed at least 2 dozen mastodon PMs due to some autofilter I didn't notice existed.
Liberals are like the drunkest friend at the party - the one passed out on the couch with shit written all over their faces. Lights on, music off and we've been trying to get them into a taxi for half an hour.
Y'all need a pint of cold water to the face.
