getting ddosed by the rest of the fediverse because i was offline for a few months

the year is 20XX and all data has been converted to hashed content addressing. every bit is in a random location somewhere in the solar system. storage metadata is 10,000 times larger than the data being stored. caches are obsolete. it's impossible to compute anything in less than a week. we are finally free.

mastodon you can't just put a [GIF] label on something that's obviously a modern video codec

is there any ethical reason to want hundreds of terabytes in one memory device? what portion of the market makes up that use?

llm text always re-explaining things repeatedly without ever putting correct names or sources to any of it

has anyone seen peertube move data faster than 10 MB/s ever

with peertube's object storage downloader patched to not fail all the time, and the files manually undeleted several times, the next issue is just that it's saturating a cpu core before the network or disk

we already had a way for anyone to make software even if they despise organized thinking, it was called visual basic,

maybe i will try making a modern website, and generate html from zsh instead of sh

all these years of doing mastodon and i can't "dislike a boost"

is there a double-sized eyeroll emoji like those sprites from smb3 world 4

i think the complexity in peertube isn't in the initial setup but in keeping up with all the things that break on their own

50% of the fediverse is ActivityPub and the other 50% is DNS

yaml is more offensive than perl

trains here have some new(?) led signs that seem to get double horizontal resolution via persistence of vision, neat

50% of Massive Attack mp3s have encoding glitches but still sound great

"apple silicon" is useful terminology insofar as i know to super avoid anyone who insists on branding an arm64 soc that way

computers should talk less and beep more

the new firefox is so damn round

linkedin is not a place for reading comprehension
