I have had countless conversations with engineers the past few years who say they just monitor AI now.
I’ve heard folks say that isn’t as fun or meaningful for them.
We act like code making can’t create joy like art making, but that’s not true.
Some folks just really enjoy it.
One thing I’m hearing less in conversation about AI and coding: the joy of writing code.
You may not need to write every line yourself anymore, and sometimes that's a relief.
Still, it's strange how little room we leave for the simple fact that a lot of people love doing it.
Coding is a craft.
I know it's rare for locals to want outsiders to weigh in but I'd like to hear from people not from Toronto: 1) where are you from, and 2) what do you think about the provincial government removing bike lanes along a major street in Canada's largest city, purportedly to reduce traffic?
Is it time for cyber-post-punk yet?
Unbelievable amount of police cruisers at Bloor and Islington in #Toronto right now as protestors block the bike lanes that Doug Ford has ordered removed. I've read ranges from 18-33+ police cruisers. Multiple arrests. Tacks and nails found in bike lanes nearby.
This is while MTO is violating their construction permit by beginning work during the day to remove bike lanes.

I thought I was okay at putting bike tires on rims since I've done it for my old hybrid with 35mm wide tires...
But I had no idea how to do a 53mm tire. I took it to the LBS near work (Bigfoot Bike and Skate) and Brian got it set for me... same day service, too!

Bike Bits 003 is out! Cycling adventures from your old pal Petey...
Car drivers often insist we cyclists "don't contribute to the roads" but in the last few days I've pulled a 4x4 block of wood out of the road, moved a dead animal off the road, and reported this crash debris, which has now been cleaned up.
I also report potholes and other road issues, along with illegal parking.
I think I do more to maintain safe roads than 99% of car drivers.

This is a work of art. Two big thumbs up.
How old is too old to go trick or treating?
I found the 3M Super 77 spray glue I got in 5 years ago and it's completely clogged... tried to clean the nozzle, no luck.
Same thing with a can someone gave me a few years ago. Tried to de-clog the nozzle, but not getting any spray out.
Any tips on getting these working again?
Are they just too old?

Using lookupaplate.com and this image of all the state license plates I was able to get vehicle info for another habitual bike lane/sidewalk parker.
With the camera on my handlebars I don't even need to stop and take a photo. I just check the footage later for the plate number.
As long as they keep parking on the sidewalks or bike lanes I'll keep reporting them.
@ai6yr @kristinHenry Receiving a package from a business in a ULINE box is (for me at least) a form of avoidable brand damage. Like do you know who these people are and you're OK with that, or do you not think about supply chain ethics, or what?
