The Web Performance Working Group published a First Public Working Draft of Long Animation Frames API. This document defines an API that web page authors can use to detect presence of "long animation frames" that monopolize the UI thread for extended periods of time and block other critical tasks from being executed - e.g. reacting to user input.

W3C is very pleased to announce that the @sovtechfund has launched a pilot program to support independent #OpenSource maintainers participation in the work of our groups, including training, mentoring, and financial support to make sustained engagement possible. It is really wonderful to see efforts from organizations to recognize the role that open standards play.
The call for applications is open until 19 May.

"Third Party Cookies Must Be Removed" has been published as a W3C Draft finding by @tag
"Third-party (AKA cross-site) cookies are harmful to the web, and must be removed from the web platform. This finding explains why they must be removed, and examines the challenges in removing them. We highlight some use cases that depend on third-party cookies and offer some examples of designed-for-purpose technologies that can replace them."
