The long running "investigate Spittoon" action in West of Loathing is so good. I love that not only does the narrator get more exasperated every encounter, the description of each Spittoon gets worse & worse. Masterclass in letting the player do the awful thing and rewarding them with more awful.
Bad people can make good art, but mealy mouthed lame-o's with no spine rarely make good music because there's rarely anything going on up there worth writing about.
You could study Metallica going from pretty staunchly anti war metal to

Mob Rules features Marge Simpson essentially burning the town to the ground because her son bought a GTA spoof game, and a EA exec taking bribes and sleazing it up.
I'm (re)playing the Xbox 360 version of The Simpsons Game for Simpstober and yeah it's still pretty great. A bit uneven though, the original stuff like Mob Rules it is hilarious and on point. But over half the game feels like reheated Simpsons fan leftovers
Kind of impressive that The Simpsons Game has "tag anywhere" but still has collectables the character in question can't reach yet in really tedious ways
Nothing makes me wince quite like streamers and YouTubers trying to do bits on service workers and phone lines like you have melt downs if your chat tells you what items to equip but harassing some lady doing her job is a ok?
"Sonic & Knuckles is 32 today..."
NOT NOW, RETRO GAMES, I'M GOING THROUGH IT ENOUGH.
in what I can only wearily say "yeah that checks out" the issue was not the website, but that abby's phone spellcheck helpfully changed my sign up email into a gibberish word
Dog Online does not seem to work on Abby's phone which means with my limited Internet this dog is At Risk. Whoops.
The enemies in the Lonely Tower in Dog Online are like
Has 5 HP and only wiggles in place.
OR
Has 45 health and roundhouse kick you in one turn.
Add in that heating items like the squeaky hammer don't heal if the combat ends and man this is way more difficult than it really should be
I'm gonna be real, I was interested in Pony Island at the start, but when it became evident the main gameplay loop was gonna be the faux coding timing block puzzle swap stuff I pretty quickly lost interest
SoundFontGuy's real actual PS1 soundtrack in the style of JRPG's is now pay what you want and has one of the most friendly ToS' I've seen in a while. if you're needing music for a project I highly recommend it.

Today's Reboot remastered episode is Bad Bob AKA Prototype Mad Max Fury Road. No, really. I'm not just being funny.

I can tell Dog Online is made by My People because there's so, so many Homestar Runner references slapped in.
A few days of playing Dog Online and I must say its pretty cute! if you miss early Neopets its got the same vibe, but is also its own quirky thing.
Really when you compare it, it's got a lot in common with modern horror movies that are so fixated in generational trauma.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre is so strange in that people talk about it like it's a wild snuff film but like no it's a dread-filling slow movie (positive) that blatantly, BLATANTLY is drenched in themes of industrialization ruining small towns, and how yuppies need to mind their own business
> While popular, the use of `operator=beaver` is discouraged as beavers are individual rights and can't be united as a single entity. `operator:type=beaver` would be more appropriate, unless differentiation between corporate and non profit beavers is deemed necessary.
