I used to hate April Fool’s Day. In retrospect, I see it as a sort of media literacy test for the pre-AI era. If one couldn’t muster a bit of skepticism about an absurd-seeming claim on a day that we’ve been explicitly told is for farce and trickery, how in the hell are we supposed to survive real-time AI deepfakes?

First post on my new blog. I’ve abandoned all platforms, now running Hugo via git actions.

I’ve built custom link cards, custom social cards (will debut soon), and custom tipping modals.

Because it’s my passion project, it includes everything I would want:

⁃ No light mode: Dark (Catppuccin Machiatto) and Darker (OLED Black)
⁃ A font selector with two accessibility options (Lexend, OpenDyslexic)
⁃ Web haptics (a new addition that I’m obsessed with)
⁃ And more to come

Loving @MonaApp so far.

It’s totally worth the annual fee for Mona Ultra (though I bet more people would subscribe at $12.99/yr), especially since many of the paid features are free in my other fav app, Ice Cubes.

The best feature, however, is auto‑translate. Ice Cubes requires manual translation, which is a UX peeve for me. That said, Mona doesn’t indicate when a post has been auto‑translated, which is a problem.

If Mona team reads this, please add a badge like “translated from {language}.”

Currently playing Breath of Fire IV for PS1 and wow the aesthetic of this game is too good.

Testing @protonprivacy Docs

First impressions:
• already capable enough for most people
• good markdown support, but missing comments
• option to download as: .docx . html .txt .md which is great in my books.
• can open Obsidian's markdown files with little to no issue (images missing only, but that makes sense)
