Had a fantastic time spinning with friends! For the first half of this project I spun from the fold. The second half is being spun with the short draw method. I'll chain ply both to keep one variable consistent - it fascinates me how different techniques can change the appearance of a spin so much!

Last month I hit the dye pots again and dyed some yarn 🥰 that is officially the last of the 100g skeins I purchased at a steep discount from a friend who closed shop. Next dye session will be exploring worsted weight base options 💜
My first Musselburgh was almost two years ago and since then it has been a regular pattern on my needles. This one was knit with Northwoods Fibers in the colorway Explorer's Club. I picked this skein out at The Yarnery where I met up with an internet friend irl 🥰

I started the new year by finishing my first ever spin on the Schacht Ladybug. I struggled a bit with learning drive ratios, but overall had a great time and enjoying how lustrous this 70% BFL 30% silk yarn is.
Simple 3 ply spin, 123 yards and 90 grams, light worsted weight but very dense. Should probably have spun it woolen.
My most recent #handspun, fresh off of my EEW 6.0 wheel! 🧶
It is a fractal ply / barber pole combination. I spun the blue and brown top as is and split the green and brown top and spun end over end and then spun them together.
505 yds and 232 g, I'm really happy with the twist on this one!

Love my newest #Musselburgh made in LolaBean Yarn Company's Moonshine on the Wax Bean base.
I LOVE this base! The 20% silk gives the yarn a drape and a sheen that is gorgeous when paired with this colorway. This is easily my favorite hat now 🧶
Bunny has a big sibling - I tried the modified pattern again with a 5.5 mm hook to see how they compare in floppiness and size :)
The larger bunny uses Premier Parfait Chunky in the colorway Almond Butter and Marshmallow for the tips of his arms.
I got the hang of right-handed crocheting and decided that the obvious first project should be worked in chenille yarn 😂😂😂 As a result, many curses and swear words were involved.
This was a cute pattern! The pattern had not been tech edited and there's incomplete information (e.g. missing gauge, nonsensical instructions) which was disappointing for a paid pattern. I made some modifications to the instructions, especially in the ears. For the next one, I will use a 5.5 mm hook instead of a 4 mm one for more squishiness.
Yarn is fantastic! This is a chenille yarn (Premier Yarns Parfait Chunky) that has a very low propensity to shed. It's even possible to rip back sections without too much damage which was a first for me. The colorway is Acorn, and while I had hoped it would look more brown I'm not upset about the dusty pink color.

Id like to put my lab servers to work archiving US federal data thats likely to get pulled - climate and biomed data seems mostly likely. The most obvious strategy to me seems like setting up mirror torrents on academictorrents. Anyone compiling a list of at-risk data yet?

One WIP finished for #finishorfrogalong ! Only one more knitting WIP to go, but that is a pattern design so it will be a slower finish as I fine-tune instructions and design elements :) I also have a spinning WIP on my EEW 6.0, which I might prioritize because I just acquired my dream spinning wheel from a dear friend and I cannot wait to give it a try.
