This is weird and I can't articulate why, but it makes me uncomfortable when political candidates talk about their door-knocking as though it's something valuable and important

I just wish I had a way to tell how long a given round of flooding is going to last - like if I knew for certain it would take 2 hours or 3 hours or something, and then once it's done I can change and go to bed

They're turning off the air conditioning in my building tomorrow and the forecast high is a humidex of 32 😩

The problem is I have no way to tell when the flooding has stopped and, therefore, when it makes sense to start doing laundry. There are few things more disheartening than having another load of bloody laundry all queued up before the first is done

I've seen a lot of dismissals of some ideas I'm writing about by people who don't to my knowledge work in the industry, so I'd like some feedback from those who do. Replies encouraged, and I'd love to do some interviews if possible.

I know that it's definitely not worth getting Long COVID, and definitely worth it if I can stay safe from COVID, and there's no one credible who can help me with the COVID risk assessment.

Random memory of the time they opened a new Pizzaiolo near my office (back when I still worked in the office) and their way of advertising was to give away free pizza on the first day.

I have done yoga every single day for the past quarter-century, and my biggest pet peeve is that it has not led to any reduction in people perkily asking me "Have you tried yoga?" as though there's any human being on the planet who hasn't tried yoga in this the year 2026!

It's getting to the point where the annoyance at being asked if I've tried yoga outweighs the benefits of yoga!
