Woke up and saw the state of the world and now I don't want to face the day.

It occurred to me this morning that even if I get this working, I don't know how I'll test whether it's calculating the curve correctly.

Hoping there's some kind of "bezier curve fiddle" somewhere that reliably produces numbers I can check against... ideally two 😅

Gotta start somewhere.

I think I'm going to have to code a Bezier curve for this, probably with two control points. When I see the little animation it seems achievable. When I see the formulas on the Wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%A9zier_curve) on the other hand...

Also, don't forget to pay a guru to tell you one true version, because absolutely nothing else can be trusted as genuine.

Yantras: very important that they're drawn correctly with perfect precision, also very important that their correct form is never documented, also very important to disregard the hundreds of years of documents that sketch them roughly like it was done with ball-point pen on a napkin, also very important not to pay attention to there being multiple completely different versions of them in circulation that are all the authoritative version.

Did a bit of googling with my cheese on toast for yantra and lotus images, and instead ran across an entirely unfamiliar claimed version of the Gayatri Yantra 😒

The debugging version is a bit intense, isn't it. If I'd set it to green, it'd be giving Matrix vibes 😅

The way the points of light are animated with the graduation along the line needs more work, too. One step at a time.

An hour or so of refactoring and over an hour of frustrating debugging later (graphics downgraded and sped up for debugging purposes)...

Next is lotus petals. That's going to be interesting 😬

I think that'll do for today.

Needs some work on how one layer flows into the next, but the geometry is there.

Now we're getting somewhere...

I have the best Saturday nights.

Wondering if I should really be rotating points for more elegant code, so I searched for a refresher on that. I'd heard good things about Khan Academy but I'm not convinced 🤔 (It does look better than nothing.)

Can you tell what it is yet?

Thought experiment: What would a network that offers HTTP but only across a set of nodes that have been whitelisted look like? A web based not on access-by-default but on human oversight at every node. Could it be implemented? (I have a hunch it could be.)

Time to make some pasta and pesto, and think about how the internet is probably going to evolve into a space where human spaces and connections are fiercely protected... It's already starting to happen.

Why does my brain think the right time to tell me things I'm getting wrong in life is 5 a.m.?
