someone said “WAF” on a meeting about the PHP stuff and I felt my ears physically prick up and the urge to bark. is this normal?

of all places, this was on the scrub daddy website. lmao.

so monogamous data processors do exist

On a serious note though: why Ryan?

For me, Ryan and by extension Drag’N Wash represent a middle finger to the creeping tide of authoritarian prudishness that is sweeping the West.

It’s a massive fuck you to the SFWisation of the fandom and of the web in general. Yes, there’s some irony that it’s stuck behind age verification in lots of places, but I think that’s only drawn more attention to the issue.

Ryan’s wonderfully queer, unashamedly naked and he’s happy to be that way. There’s nothing wrong with it, despite what your local MP might think.

and no, we are not doing this gag. sorry.

Honestly a TIME style “Entity of the Year” would be quite a cool thing to have in the fandom. It could be a developer, artist, character, charity, etc.

Ryan from Drag’N Wash this year’s “Face of the Furry Fandom”?

(Yeah, okay, he’s technically not furry but… yeah, you get it)

Imagine the ASOS "hack" turns out to be viral marketing.

They announce a press conference, and instead it's a fashion show with a catwalk and all their newest lines. The ASOS H4CK3D Event. Fashion: Decoded.

BBC forced to cover it live.

Today I also learned that Ofcom are going after Aylo/Pornhub because they don't think they did enough "due diligence" before allowing Apple's iOS based age verification to be used... So Ofcom are busily hounding providers that have - honestly - tried their best to comply and make the process as private and frictionless as possible for users. Good job. Nice work.

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/online-safety/protecting-children/investigation-into-aylos-compliance-with-the-duty-to-prevent-children-from-encountering-pornographic-content-through-the-use-of-age-assurance

My monthly assessment of "how are Ofcom doing with this OSA stuff?" involves opening a non-VPN'd private browsing window (default setup, no adblocking/bypass extensions etc, UK IP address) to google dot com, typing gay porn and clicking search.

How far down the list of results do I have to get before I see some lads going at it? Today? Three. The third result. There are many other results on the page that work too, only about half have any sort of age gate. Some of the ones with age gate I could bypass by just hitting the back button after the redirect and tapping play again.

Indeed, if you click on the Images tab in Google the first result is gay porn.

this was so fucking funny to hear. I swear to dog I was crying at my desk.

(ring doorbell noise)

...

(door opens)

Neighbour: "hiya - ah thanks"

Courier: "no worries, have a good one."

(door closes)
(van starts and drives away)

...

Ring Doorbell (to absolutely nobody): "We're having trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi."
