been meaning to go back here but it’s been 8 years i gotta get around to it sooner than later because the vibe looks amazing at the red sandcastle theatre

2012 really was better even the drumsticks had bigger nuggets

I also watched The Bat from this months #Monsterdon again tonight because I get can’t enough Vincent Price and the film is so good #cozy

I did watch Charlie Brown Halloween tonight and then a bizarre later Halloween special where Snoopy learns magic and turns Charlie Brown invisible and won’t do anything about it until Lucy threatens him.

I learned this weekend that if you install too many Fonts, Wine, and I suppose Windows too, become very slow.

Wordperfect 8 on Wine would take over a minute to start on an AMD Epyc because it was evaluating 1000 fonts.

some of the source images and a bonus Corel Ventura 8 #Retrocomputing #VintageComputing

It has been fun playing amateur software archeologist with WINE on Linux and enjoying all the software art of my youth.

Also I think they’d all be awesome banner images for my profile but I’m very attached to Carol.

Almost time for #Monsterdon Tonight it’s The Last Man on Earth! https://video.txw.ca/w/sWAXo2waR1fvhNZN4ofr2P

I’ve discovered that a lot of retro productivity software isn’t in WineHQ AppDB so I’m looking forward to at least adding some retro entries

The below is a poor example because Lotus Approach, their take on Corel Paradox or MS Access, is in Wine App DB, but hopefully I can update it and get it in a winebottle or somesuch!

I’ve been playing a lot with WINE on Linux getting retro software working and it’s been a lot of fun to spin up Wordperfect 8 on a modern Linux machine.

I’m hoping I can contribute winetricks or winebottles or some such, so that other people can enjoy the retro software easily.

I’ve been playing with Quattro, 1-2-3, Lotus Smartsuite, Lotus Symphony, pretty much plenty of Lotus and Corel goodness so far. Also plenty of Encyclopedias, discovered Microsoft Bookshelf 2000 is pretty cool and even have Shockwave working in it.

The highlight is truly ‘Chicken Baby is a metaphor for being yourself’ #AmericanDad #TV

American Dad is uses absurdist comedy so brilliantly and they’ve been consistent at it across their entire run. Watching the Chicken Baby episode and it’s an awfully ridiculous (and good) episode.

Could be nice to have a website called like scsistream where it’s just a live stream of a SCSI disk array serving files. Maybe serving files of the page even…

Would be nice to be able to hear SCSI disks on demand.

Yes it’s from 2021 but a person may dream @orinoux https://www.phoronix.com/news/Wine-2021-For-POWER #linuxgaming #powergaming
