I haven't felt ready to post about this until now, but my eldest cat Hazel passed a couple weeks ago in my and my partner's arms. There has been a lot of death in my life these last few years, and for every one I've been there holding them. I've cried so, so much. I'm sorry to et you down but I wanted everyone to know that she was here. Rest in peace my sweet, beautiful girl. I'll miss you tucking me in at night. 🎵 Hazel's so pretty, she's so pretty 🎵

Not autistic enough to be neurodivergent, not neurotypical enough to be "normal"; falling through the cracks, story of my life. Never fit in anywhere, always an outsider wih no clear identity other than "other". Never feeling like I can understand other people. Maybe I'm broken. Maybe I'm just feeling sad and mopey.

A million times THIS.

I don't think it should be controversial to recognize or state that far-right Islamist assholes and far-right neo-nazi assholes are both bad. Viewing everything through an oppressor-oppressed lens is too simplistic. Fuck all regressives, regardless of their majority or minority status. The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend and all that.

I've noticed lately, especially over on reddit, a huge wave of negativity towards #linuxmint I swear at least some of it has to be some sort of psyop. In any case, most of it is FUD.

As a side note, Arch users: it's great that you like Arch. But the evangelism and shitting on everything else is tiring. Touch grass.

The cityscape outside my window is incredibly hazy and yellow-orange with wildfire smoke. Windows are all closed of course but I can still smell and taste it. This is fucked up. I'm worried about my partner and our cats but there's nothing we can do.

If it makes me an extremist to not want to participate in the *gestures broadly at the almost incomprehensible scale of human cruelty and depravity towards other animals* then I guess I'm an extremist.

A while back, during the beginnings of covid I started a #GlitchArt project using (mostly) #8bit #videogames as source material. Here's one I feel like sharing. I call it "Separation Sickness". (Source material: PROTO DERE #nes homebrew game, Game Genie, various rom patch files)

Am I missing something, or when people talk about #immutable #atomic distros being the future, aren't they forgetting that these distros still need their parent mutable distro to exist?

@mrundkvist @Natasha_Jay @svente_fox @persagen @watcher_of_bitds I always enjoy seeing your posts in my feed :)

I see it's Trans Day of Visibility today. So like, hi.

I'm thankful to be Canadian, and I don't feel like I need any extra attention or support right now. But that's not the case for most of my trans siblings in other parts of the world, including the USA. If you care about your trans friends, famiy, and community members, remember: never vote to give regressives power.

So I went ahead and deleted my bluesky account. The vibe over there, as I said in a previous post, is very American-centric, too much for me. Another thing I noticed is how much of it feels like a "hot takes" bulletin board for zoomers. The quality of feeds here on #Mastodon just feels significantly deeper.

A favourite gaming moment of mine
