I'm just better at absorbing photons than you.

Ahem. Happy Birthday @JoBlakely!!!

If you don't follow her, go do it now! She's an incredible artist who cares deeply about her community. Also, one of us cool Toronto fedizens!

The gender binary is ridiculous, and I'm 5 and this is deep.

If a non-binary person is into a different flavour of non-binary people, does that make them heterosexual?

Oh I missed this part. They kept **all the historical data**?!?!?! Over 25 years?!

The thing that bothers me the most about this is that P3 (the company) knows that they've been hacked, and their systems are still up and vulnerable for other hackers.

The only correct response is to take down your system to remediate your vulnerabilities. Especially with data that's this sensitive.

The fact that the information architecture was not designed to:
a) remove identifying information from the body of the tip, and
b) store identity as a separate database with locked down...

That's deep, deep negligence in program design.

"[The hackers] added that the security measures of P3, which was storing Crime Stoppers' tips, were "terrible" and that the platform is still vulnerable."

It's really saying something when the hackers are more responsible than the vendor. They have not yet leaked the contents of the hack except to journalists.

Oh look, the cops leaked the full details of every single crime stoppers tip they got last year, including personal information on the tipster.

Of course it's an external vendor. What could go wrong with outsourcing systems like this?

People are going to die because of this criminal negligence.

I grew up in a religious household. The only radio station that was acceptable was easy listening and easy rock. Shania was the soundtrack of my younger years (thanks, CanCon).

I have Shania stuck in my head.

Mary Poppins was my childhood autistic obsession, and I'm still really happy someone from work described me as Mary Poppins.

If you were to vanish suddenly tomorrow, what extremely informal but endearing description would people use to describe their memory of you?

Feel free to specify who is doing the remembering.

(No self-deprecation here.)

I used to think that I could be happy in a tiny house, but the polyam life is kind of incompatible with that lifestyle. We'd be looking at like, a ranch with tiny houses. But what happens if you dislike your meta?
Is it like survivor where someone gets voted off the ranch every now and then?

Someone is recruiting product people to do a survey on how they use AI. Seems reasonable in 2026, right?

......... This survey is a conversation with an AI interviewer.

That empty chair is deeply symbolic here.

I don't understand what the tech nerds are talking about 80% of the time on here, but it's neat to see people just be nerds and find other people to glom onto.

Although the 20% of the time when I do get it?!?! I feel special. 😼

No May, "I told you so" is not helpful.
