Before I go on, please understand that data is hard, communicating data is hard & BCD is very useful.
The poll highlights a gap between what BCD actually reports (the feature exists in the browser) & what devs think it reports (the feature works in the browser).
Thanks for all your answers to the BCD poll! Of 153 respondents, here's what "full support" means:
▪️ 9.15%: only that the feature is available in the browser
▪️ 88.89%: the feature is available and works according to spec
What does this mean?
It’s a thread! 👇🏾
📢 I need 100 more web developers to answer 1 important question.
How do you interpret the "Fully Supported" label on MDN support tables? Let me know in the survey below and tell your web developer friends to answer too 🙏🏾

📢 Web developers, I need your help!
I've made a very short survey, literally just one question, about how you interpret "Fully supported" or the tick in the support tables on MDN. Please take a minute to answer the question:

Soloprenures who travel for work, what’s your chosen hotel chain? I want to start maximising points.
I can’t lie, I struggle in places less than 4 stars. 3 stars is doable but comfort is *very* important to me.
Would love chains that span Europe, N. America, & East & S.E. Asia.
Something cool I finished last week, Accessibility Compat Data’s website: https://acd.lolaslab.co
You can get an overview of the project, learn how to contribute, have a look at our funding proposal, & stay updated on what we’re building. ✨

Tomorrow I get to show the WIP of a short film I’ve been working on about decolonising the web @ The Photographer’s Gallery!! If you’re in London, come down! 🥳

[This is not me (or TAG) endorsing anybody’s opinions - not Jeremy’s, not Apple’s]
The TAG invited Jeremy to talk about web installs at our F2F last week, representing the developer experience. It’s the first time (in my tenure) that we’ve invited developers to get their direct input into work happening in standards & the general consensus was that we should do it more!
Have a read of Jeremy’s thoughts about what was discussed below.
This is a bit of a vulnerable question but how do you deal with getting stuff you “should” know wrong?
e.g. you’re a mathematician & should know 2+2=4 but you’ve said it’s 5, how do you deal with the feelings of incompetence?
I know captchas are notoriously inaccessible but I just had to do one where I had to drag a puzzle piece into it's space for @protonprivacy & I'm really baffled how someone with a vision disability or blind is supposed to complete that????
My GP surgery has now implemented an AI recptionist, with no way to speak to a human, no way to consent (or revoke consent) and waste all the time in the world. I've filed a complaint.

More good news! I’m grateful to be funded to work on ACD for the next year 🙏🏾
Hi folks, pls give me your media (books, docs, films, music) recommendations that deal with the construction of Black gender(s) (or lack thereof). Already on the list:
📕 ‘The Invention of Women’
📕 ‘Rethinking Rufus’
📕 ‘Black on Both Sides’
21:30. Kitchen is flooded. Plumbers are on a 4 hour callout but the wait is likely to be longer. For some reason I booked grocery delivery for btwn 8-11pm. I’m so tired 😭
Someone at the TAG dev meetup asked about age verification on the web & we all said a bunch of stuff but forgot to mention, the TAG has published the Preventing Abuse of Digital Credentials doc too: https://www.w3.org/2001/tag/doc/prevent-credential-abuse/
Pls share so they might see it.
My full name is pretty long & I’ve just hit a form validation error that my name *has to be* less than 18 characters 😕
I thought we stopped putting such restrictions on name form fields???
So much of the content about how to use FreeAgent assumes you’re a sole trader.
