Now you could just say “OK, try it, if no one complains you can get away with it” but that’s not really how I would like to behave!

Cycle 2km to Nuits s/ Armançon to drop it off at Mondial Relay
The depot is at a car garage that has much longer opening hours than La Poste, and you can leave boxes up to 30kg in weight, no questions asked
Here are two such boxes I took there yesterday

NOT USE LA POSTE / COLISSIMO AT ALL
I was only using them as the online marketplace for this box had them as the only option
Every other time I use Mondial Relay which is…

Now *were* this proper Service Publique, I would NOT need to know my postman to get it to work, the rules should be correctly applied to all, and using the service should not be dependent on owning a car.
So off I go, annoyed, still carrying my 15kg box
And as I go around the corner out of the Agence La Poste, who do I see: the postman in his van.
Me: “Stop! I have a question! Can you take this Colissimo, it weighs 15kg”
Postman, looking confused. “Yes. Why?
Me: “The post office won’t take it”
I lift it into his van, and off it goes
Me: “Can I ask the postman, maybe he will take it?”
(He drives around in a van, and I know him)
Employee: “I don’t know”
