uncompressed version with too much text to fit in the alt text field, sorry

I hope you enjoyed my attempt to compress 1500 words about what I learned from skimming the patch into 280 characters, that was hellish, it's really hard not to sound like an LLM when you do this

PHP is a million or so lines of C code that pervasively used alloc functions that longjmp() on failure, so OOM bailout creates corrupted state. the fix uses fallible allocs and a global please-return-early OOM flag but requires touching Everything. completeness is impossible 😰😰😰

oh god there's a company called Reflect Orbital that wants to launch tens of thousands of satellites with mirrors on them to allow illuminating 5km-wide zones on the earth in the middle of the light by reflecting sunlight

this is terrifying

holy shit LinuxJournal is just total AI slop now and I don't mean that in any exaggerated way, there's an article “about” loss32 that is entirely hallucinated statements about what loss32 is that have no resemblance to anything written on the website, it's un-fucking-believable

I think I'm going to borrow or buy some kind of book that is an introduction to jazz harmony because I feel like this might be the only way we're actually going to get anywhere with trying to speak the language of music

why am I the jazz one. surely nobody sees Kanbaru Suruga and thinks “jazz”, and yet
