reminder that Fediverse is not for anyone to reply to anyone. It is not for making human connection. I am a brand and you listen to me and you don't reply you little slut

Is #Pleroma good?

I need to admin a small social media instance for say 10 non-techie people so we can publish photos and text posts. Just for outreach and reminders and event flyers

Mastodon looks heavier and I want something #ActivityPub so it can syndicate across the #Fediverse and bridge to BlueSky (I don't want to run a BS directly if I can help it)

I'm sorry, I thought you was corn

17 years ago they won, then at some point we lost.

They don't tell you that war is something you have to keep fighting. With physical war it's too obvious to state, with ideological war it's sometimes too subtle to notice

See if you use Electron you have to bundle a whole Chromium instance

So it's 100+ MB

But if you use Qt it's a lot smaller, because every distro ships Qt

But none of them ship the Qt you need, so you do have to bundle Qt

So it's 100+ MB

Wait I should do this for dating.... #Datestodon #FediDate

Resume that has fake red ink super-imposed, "Hire her - Robert"

(Apparently Robert is the most common CEO name among Fortune 500)

You know, I've spent a year off and on doing graphic design for my activism work.

If someone handed me my old resume and I had my activist hat on I'd say, "Nobody will read that. Start with pictures. What pictures go in it? Then visual hierarchy. One huge headline, 3 or 4 words at most. Then your contact in big font. No, bigger. Bigger than that. You don't have space left for the details? Cut 'em. It's a conversation, not an encyclopedia."

Next time I'm applying for jobs I might just send a resume with my contact info and "Details on request".

Fill that point on the Pareto frontier, you know.

1. It's not AI slop
2. It's honest
3. It would allow me to apply to lots of jobs instead of struggling to apply to one per day

And honestly, people don't read. People don't read because 99% of written material is not worth reading - Ads, shampoo bottles (which are ads for themselves)

Old episode of Mythbusters, Adams calls wind turbines "Alternative energy"

Ah, the old days! When #RenewableEnergy was "alternative". We should call oil "alternative" now. You know, it's an alternative to reliable, cheap, politically stable wind and solar :neocat_laugh_nervous:

Steam punk mass surveillance glasses that have a little piston engine and governor, and are very loud and obvious

Added "You can reply to my posts, I don't get enough conversation on here" to my profile

Is there a hashtag for like... "here's how to interact with me" stuff? That might find this interesting? #AskFedi

Fixed it

I don't know if it's coincidence, but I tried typing the PIN very slowly, like 3 seconds between each button press, per a YouTube comment:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QabNploOtmQ

> Here is the workaround: type in your PIN very slowly. Type the first number, then wait 2-3 full seconds, then type the second number, wait 2-3 seconds, etc then wait 2-3 seconds before hitting the Enter button

PIN suddenly not being accepted might be a general #Android problem?

Anyone had their #GrapheneOS phone suddenly say their PIN is incorrect?

I've had the same PIN for months, and it's in my password manager, so I know I'm entering the correct PIN.

Randomly in the middle of the day, it's started saying it's incorrect. Normally I enter this PIN 20+ times per day

Boost if you like. So confused by this. I can reset the phone, my photos are backed up by SyncThing, but this is really frustrating

No! Go to hell!
