For those who probably would be better off using a proprietary network but still prefer to use the distributed Fediverse, a few pro-tips:

- Start (or join/support) your own instance. You will be amazed what the live feeds will tell you about the activities of your peers…
- If you can not support, start or join an instance, please use the tools that are available. The expenditure of time is a consequence of social interaction.

The scientists in question seem unaware that their dataset differs from those of other participants in the network by definition.

There is no universal data. All that exists in our Fediverse is the illusion of (common) data...

Over the past week, I’ve noticed several threads in which prominent scientists have asked questions about the algorithms used in the Fediverse. Essentially, they were looking for a better social experience.

In my opinion, the Fediverse is already doing a wonderful job 🥰

P.S. I won't mention the scientists by name, but I'm cc'ing this post to two people I know who are actively engaged with this subject 😘

@portermason The Roonie package has arrived. Could you please confirm that the bird was in this position at the moment you posted the package? I will deny any involvement 😘
