Of course, if anyone wanted to make a holiday of it, the Peak District is quite nice at this time of year (recommend accommodation in Chesterfield likely to be cheaper than in the National Park).

Unlikely that anyone on here is local enough, but Baslow Theatre group, a small Derbyshire village group, have got two productions upcoming. Halloween (one night only, obviously) is a Ghost storytelling, 4 local-based stories with some history behind them, adult- and teen-suitable. And, in early February, a traditional family pantomime. I have taken part several times. This is a true community event - the idea with the panto is to make just enough profit to fund the following year's productions.

Busy listening to loads of musicians playing for fun and to raise money for the best music festival I know of - the Mansfield Folk Festival. Currently, the song is 'Dance the night away'. (Don't be fooled by the title of the festival, it's not just folk music) Already did a set of 4 songs myself on tenor uke.

Artists and creative types (of all sorts) - please don't hesitate to post what you're doing, even if you aren't that happy with it. Compared to the slop that passes for 'good enough', it's bound to be brilliant, and I, like many others, want proper creativity, not rehashed rubbish. #art #Artist #Music #MusicProduction #crocheting #knitting #creativity #Photography #cinema #theatre #amateurDramatics #drama #Writing

2023: I didn't run

2025: didn't run
2026: still don't run

(It's a running joke..)
