Erm, excuse me.

Sorry to bother you, but did you drink any water recently?

Maybe check the microwave for that cup of coffee you reheated 2 hours ago and forgot to retrieve whilst you are filling your glass.

Thank you, please, as you were

Getting my degree shows what a difference having the right support in place can make.

I tried to get a degree twice before, but had undiagnosed ADHD. Once I was diagnosed, and had support, not only did I succeed in getting my degree, I graduated with first class honours.

I am so damned proud of myself!

Guess what?

I graduated today. I finally did the thing! I am now Open University Alumni!

Hello.

I have had a very eventful week. The details of which I cannot talk about. It has been difficult but ultimately will be very good for a close family member.

I am exhausted

If I could give those I love one gift it would be to see themselves as I see them.

More and more I find myself thinking that of something is worth doing, it is worth doing slowly. By which I mean with care, thoughtfulness and patience. This brings growth, wellbeing and skill development in the person.

What is rest?

This is a question I have been pondering recently.

I used to think that rest was sleeping, or sitting quietly, not doing anything. But now I don't think that is always true.

Rest, for me, is doing sonething that helps me feel better.

So knitting/crochet is rest,
doing an escape room is rest,
watching the stars is rest
etc

Yet, there is still a bit of me that feels guilty about "doing things when I should be resting"

Brains. Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em.

Hello.

A couple of people have asked if I'm ok, as I haven't been posting.

Truthfully, the answer is no, but I am surviving.

I am taking some time to rest, as I am exhausted (note, I do not mean tired. I mean chronic illness, grief & trauma induced, utter exhaustion).

Sometimes that rest is sleeping, other times it is laughing with friends, but online, text based communication is a lot right now so I am likely to not be around for a bit.

I will return, once my spoons allow

Today I miss my brother

I have no idea why today particularly.

It is not a birthday, an anniversary, or other significant date.

I just really keenly feel a space in my heart where he should be.

I will roll with this wave of grief. There is more time between each one now and I have a chance to breathe.

I am starting to heal around the scar that loss leaves.
The edges are not so raw and tender.
I am starting to have hope.

But today, I miss my brother

Hello.

If you are feeling a bit down, try looking up corgi crossbreeds.

They all appear to be corgis cosplaying as different dogs and it is truly a delight.

Erm.

Excuse me.

I just want to let you all know that despite not posting much I have been kept afloat of late by reading your absolute nonsense.

Please, continue with the shit posts, ludicrous ideas and ridiculousness. These things are good.

Thank you

#3GoodThings

1) the young people in two of the discords I am in looking out for me

2) blackberries from the garden

3) friends making sure I am ok

Bah! I am trying to take a manual coffee espresso maker apart to clean it up, descale it etc so that it can still be used. But one of the screw heads is knackered.

It's an allan (alan?) key head though so I am unsure what to do next.

I have left it on the table whilst I consider my options.

Anyone any ideas?

I have been enjoying the blackberries off the bramble bush in my garden that appeared about 20 years ago.

I particularly like that I have very little involvement in the blackberry process. We just hack it back once it has stopped fruiting and next year, more blackberries.

What else can I grow that has a similar amount of interaction?

@purplepadma

Just wanted to send love & hugs.

I have not been able to keep up with fedi with having my nephew with me, but I have thought of you a lot.

Big big hugs xx

Nephew had messed up his lego kit and was getting very angsty about it.

I was able to work out what the problem was and fix it, and have therefore reached the status of Lego Guru in the mind of Nephew.

To the point where when I was having a lie down earlier and he needed some help, he didn't want to ask Husband who was sat right there, but wanted to come ask me instead.

Thankfully, Husband headed him off at the pass, and managed to help him out. When I got up, Nephew told me all about it at quite some length.

I know quote tooting this is blowing my own trumpet, but I am bloody proud of myself!

The last 5.5 years have been traumatic, with a family house fire, multiple family bereavements, family hospitalisations, pet hospitalisations, unexpected diagnoses, and medical operations.

Through it all I have kept going and finally done it!

I really am proud of myself!

#Study #OUStudy

Well, I did it!

I got my final module result and got a distinction, which means my degree offer should be a 1st!

I am so pleased. This is something I never truly believed I could do, but I have done it!! I have actually done it!!

Turns out I just needed the right support in place for my ADHD & autism.

I will get to graduate before I am 50!

Today should be my nephew's 7th birthday.

Instead he will be forever 4 years old.

Please, make sure you know what to do in case of a fire. Know which adult is going for which child. Practice your escape routes.

Does the plan change if you have young grandkids staying over?
