Cramp sucks.
Cramp in both legs is a horrible way to start the day.... 😵
I really hope this is not a sign of how today is going to go
Morning has broken
#amworking
I may be a *teeny* but loopy tonight..
Staved off a complete crash with an iced vanilla berry Red Bull.
It got me back up and able to take Munch to the vet.. poor girl has been scratching a bit much. So we got her checked out, probably allergy scratches. So got gel to apply and look after her.
Got home. Starting to fade and get a little loopy as I try to make 10pm bedtime for a 4am wake up...
I'm halfway through this 6 day week and it's definitely hard on me physically & mentally.
3 more days...
Seeing Whiskey the Corgi has helped my mood 😊
#PetsOfPiccadilly
Sat, vibing in the undercroft as usual and my thoughts are still in last Saturday...
That was the worst day I've ever had working here.
And that includes Christmas and the day the entire station had a power/signalling failure.
I suspect we'll see similar passenger numbers today but the difference is how many people were on duty.
I had a couple of last minute changes that put me in a rush to the far reaches of Platform 6 and the Junction which pushed me, frankly, beyond what I can drag my fat ass to do.
I crashed *hard*. And everything ached until I got a hot bath soak on Sunday morning.
So, I'm sitting here with a little trepidation while trying to vibe.
Today should be fine. Everyone's in & at it. My schedule looks good with a mix of shed & Junction. I'll get good distance in my legs.
I know I'm still recovering. There's still a golf ball sized lump under my left ankle. My physical fitness (such as it is) has improved compared to 2 weeks ago. It's not much but it was noticeable to me on the way in that the stairs were a bit easier.
Maybe I'm fretting for nothing. (Probably).
I guess I just gotta do it & keep pushing on...
I just want this "once in a lifetime" crash to happen so I can start prepping for the next "once in a lifetime" crash
How it's going (Company Mandated Rest Day edition).
It's a furry, purry, slightly judgemental morning with a side of stink-eye
@grrrr_shark *sits with you and leaves a fresh pile of hugs*
And I still have time for #Caturday.
May the purrs of joy reach your heart.
Today's Cat just heard the rustle of a treat stick packet...
Please be aware hug provision will be offline for 5 hours due to essential maintenance.
We look forward to helping you at the revised physical platform tomorrow.
(Really worried I'm just gonna blow up tomorrow because my physical ability to go just ain't there... But only way I get it back is to do it & push on. Wish me luck!)
@pedersen not everyone's cup of tea but I watched AEW All In.
I used to watch WWE in the late 90's/early 2000s. I still have a soft spot for when they could sell a match with a video promo & make it "must watch TV"
The Rock Vs Stone Cold Steve Austin (Wrestlemania X7)
The Undertaker Vs Sean Michaels (Wrestlemania 26)
A few years ago AEW picked up Adam Copeland after having to retire with a neck injury and managed to come back after 10 years away. This intrigued me to see how he would fare. So I started watching highlights.
Then they signed Will Ospreay, supposedly the best wrestler you'd probably never seen.
I was very intrigued.
He was huge on the indies and in New Japan.
And he certainly was spectacular.
So I became a fan of "The aerial assassin".
I found old video clips of a 19 year old kid doing the most amazing aerial stuff.
The story of the Essex kid who just wanted to be a wrestler who went to Japan and won the IWGP Heavyweight belt was just such an amazing story.
Then he suffers a neck injury. The same as Copeland. He returned in 7 months after double neck fusion surgery.
He said tonight at Wembley stadium (not too far from where he grew up) was the goal. To get back and be as close to the level he was at.
He succeeded.
Puts on a fantastic match against the legendary Kenny Omega & wins his first World Champion belt. The first British man to do so on "home soil".
His intro had a ring walk, past various wrestlers that helped make & define him as a wrestler. It was kinda emotional (ngl).
So, being invested in his story, I got a bit (a lot!) into it tonight... I'm so thrilled, tired cos it's 2am here and still on the adrenalin ride from the match with Omega.
But none of my friends really do wrestling and so I'm full of squee... Which is why you're getting the infodumps 😋
Tired. Wired. Absolutely buzzing.
And with no-one to go squee about what I watched tonight...
*Explodes in a shower of squee and (rainbow) sparkles*
I got Outside (tm) for a little while.... Bit nippy for an August evening, I must say.
Joking I've used up my "movement points" for the day...
It was nice to be in the cool air, bats flying silently above and around.
And an occasional screm from She Who Must Be Obeyed, winding around my ankles (slightly risky move still).
But it's just a moment. I'm not ready to stand long enough to assist and certainly not without some pain.
Still feels like a bit further progress.
My next check is with work on Monday. Gotta call, provide an update and go from there...
Everi: we have your parcel
That sounds like a set up from a cheesy revenge movie
Hmm, apparently not just Amnesty International UK...
