That's a new one. Asking Siri to open an app and it saying "Something went wrong" after it opened the app.

Related, I've reached the point where I find it hard to get by when my arse is the size of a small country.

I wonder if anyone's started to read The Divine Comedy and thought It's not exactly a barrel of laughs this, says me who's never read it.
I also thought the band The Divine Comedy was called that because they were a comity act. Didn't help that the songs I know from them are funny anyway.

It should be called a glo'al stop, not a glottal stop.

I've realised I have a weird double standard about AI because surprise surprise I'm a complicated human that doesn't just think one way or the other.
I regularly read the interactive fiction forum and completely ignore the ridiculous amount of vibe coded things people upload daily, because they can't be doing anything different than all the other non-vibed text games people make. Claude can't write manuals so I don't want to read a story writtten in Claudese.
But if a blind person vibe codes an emulator for something that probably none of the mainstream emulation folk would touch with it being not worth their time, or they'd make a pig's ear of it...then bring it on.
Then you've got all the accessibility mods for games because 99% of mainstream game devs aren't interested in making their stuff accessible to us. I played PaRappa the Rapper the other week using an accessibility mod someone vibe coded, and the only reason why I didn't get far in it was because I'm rubbish at the game.
Then there's the other stuff. I'm not sure if that Convenience Express game is vibe coded, or why it is. But whatever. It's fun. You can play many simulation games like that on Steam... if you're sighted. So the dev probably thought if the only way they can make an accessible game like it is to get Claude to code it, then fair enough.
I bet it would be possible to vibe code a blind accessible game made using inaccessible game development environments such as Unity or Unreal Engine.

I love that there's now so many emulators of blind tech around to the point where I wonder which device they'll do next. What I don't like is that there isn't a central place to find out about them all. If I wasn't on here, or read certain forums on occasion I wouldn't know about any of it.
I think someone needs to make a website (not written in Claudese) that gathers all the info about them, as well as manuals and whatnot for the original devices. It doesn't have to be pretty.

I think the most baffling VO bug in iOS 27.x is the one where it says completely the wrong time when you press the power button. A few minutes ago it said it was still 21:46 rather than 04:58.

Edit added link.
It seems that if iOS image description refuses to describe something because it contains sensitive content, using the explore image command and asking it why will trick it into doing so .
Tried this in Wikipedia's featured article of the day: "Beauty Revealed" a self portrait by Sarah Goodridge. The image does have a human written description but I wanted to test the Apple thing because the portrait contains boobs.

There's a TV series of Carie on Amazon Prime. It just came out today.

Listening to this week's #ThePlaylist. @DJDarren wondering about life's important questions like what happened to Sheds 1 to 6.

With all the retro shenanigans going on with blind kind I bet someone will make a screen reader for NeXTSTEP.

For mainly US text to speech users: since and sense are two different words.

Watched the first 2 episodes of #CelebrityTraitors series 2 last night. The highlight was Richard E Grant admitting he's a traitor and a lot of the rest thinking he's joking.
I absolutely bet they don't vote for him.

I was right. fedi does like it. :)

Daft thing that I think Fedi will like: an internet controlled bubble machine in a Florida backyard. It's got a webcam.
Apparently been going since 2001.

My wife's watching Strange New Worlds on Paramount Plus again from the beginning. For some daft reason, only the most recent series seems to have audio description.
If I ran a streaming service, everything would have AD but only certain things would have video, and I would claim some crap about licensing issues if anyone complained about it.
It's probably all available on Audiovault but that's not the point.

Speaking of interviews, I really think someone should interview Sue Hertz, the inventer of the Eloquence speech synth that a lot of us love. How about it @JonathanMosen

Has anyone interviewed Bill Joyce the other half of Henter-Joyce?

Ray Kurzweil might seem an odd choice to have on there but he developed the first reading machine for blind people which converted print into speech using OCR. And that tech of course went mainstream with document scanners and such like, so you've got Kurzweil to thank for that I guess.

I've just come across this archive of interviews the American Foundation of the Blind did with some assistive tech developers.
They interviewed Jim Bliss, Mike May, Jim Fruchterman, Saba Hocek, Ted Henter, Deane Blazie, and Ray Kurzweil.
they are massivley long interviews. I think the deane Blazie one is 5 hours.
