first listen of the new release from @CoralineAda today… i’m primed to find this sort of thing very haunting between the apparitional data that are radio waves and the nature of scattershot religious proselytism… but i doubt i’m alone in that, and even setting that all aside it’s just deeply evocative. very good stuff; https://coralineada.bandcamp.com/album/prophets-of-shortwave-a-documentary
I spent a year exploring the strange world of shortwave radio, with my research focusing on fringe religious broadcasters. The result is "Prophets of Shortwave", a documentary shining a light on a reality that is as pervasive as it is invisible, just like the radio waves that sustain it.

There’s something I’ve been hesitant to release until The Situation Gets Better but I have mixed feelings about what holding it back means. It’s about fringe religion. I’m afraid of being targeted again.
This week I spent time working on the new Sudre’s Violin album. Today I’m doing some archaeology, digging through the past year’s sketches and demos and disquiets for material that might go with the aesthetic. I’ve also written a couple of new pieces around the piano.
I was afraid that going back to Sudre’s Violin would feel like an anchor but it’s been more like a sail.
A song about a garden. Headphones recommended.
Today is the release day for new @CCirco music, the EP is called "Broken/Imperfect"

Causal Friday, where every action has a consequence
The worst thing about being a musician has got to be changing guitar strings
That said, I’m excited to try these D’Addario XL flat-wound strings (nominally for jazz and blues players but)
I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s Disquiet prompt and hoping that I can make something pretty for once.
Here on the island of misfit toys
We report: as the sky is slowly clearing up at nightfall, dusk is dragging on over the hour (one step forward and two steps back). In the east, the sky is already completely dark, still wrapped up in clouds. It is difficult to tell, but it might also still be raining there.

I was moved to participate in #DisquietJunto, #disquiet0771, as the theme is #SteveReich 's 90th birthday.

We report: it is the middle of the night, and we are alone in the street. When there are no cars, the rain is a murmur, minuscule drops that completely saturate the air. It makes the light sticky, rubbing onto the air and the asphalt. We do not quite recognise this part of town.
Maybe I’ll try making a video for something something something
TIL Composer and software engineer Laurie Spiegel’s groundbreaking music software Music Mouse was rescued from oblivion by Eventide and you can download it for $30. Works with Ableton and Logic. (Someone updated the Wikipedia entry, too!)
making art during fascism is really tough, and i send encouragement to anyone able to do it - because it is very crucial antifascist work.
An ode to Steve Reich by way of the MIDI protocol circa 1987 for this week’s #disquietjunto prompt.
