Is anyone planning to drive from the Bay Area to @hackaday #Supercon next week? I have a friend in need of a ride.

Our vacuum has been thusly named “Eye Robot.”

If you're headed to #electronica, come check out the edge lab LIVE! events on Wed 11/11. I'll be hosting a workshop (reinforcement learning for #robotics) and evening interviews/demos. Use the code GUEST-SHAWN for free admission (first 50). #embedded #electronics

The next #Meshtastic video is up! I go through the basics of flashing the Meshtastic firmware and using the app. Check it out! #electronics #maker @digikey @meshtastic

You'd think I would have learned not to cross TX/RX by now.

Time for a new series! #Meshtastic and #MeshCore have been gaining popularity, so I decided to help people get started with them. Check out the first video where I talk about the differences between these two technologies. #LoRa #engineering #maker @digikey @meshtastic @meshcore

Part 3 of our Let's Talk Technical: Edge AI video is out! I'm not a security expert, so it was great getting insights from other engineers and vendors about how security plays into the #edgeAI wave.

I read about the reverse engineering of Adobe products last week, but I didn't realize how bonkers it really was. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wajoP_5Cpw8

Just finished book 5 of #DungeonCrawlerCarl. This is probably my favorite one so far…it’s intense! Donut and Katia’s growth really shine through here. And yes, I still think the audiobook is the way to go ❤️ #dcc

Apparently, not knowing what “unc” means is very unc.

Had an amazing time at my 20 year reunion! My roommates/friends visited. We rented an Airbnb, played board games, and reminisced about various classes/activities. I love how old jokes immediately resurface when you meet up with old friends ❤️ #RoseHulman

Anyone need some #math on their Tuesday? 🧮 In my latest #ReinforcementLearning blog post, I cover Generalized Advantage Estimation (GAE): how λ-weighting blends TD and Monte Carlo advantage estimates, and how rollout buffer length affects it in practice.

Haven’t painted in a while, so it was nice taking a break today to knock out the white dragon scale shield for my #DND character 🎨🖌️ #miniaturepainting

Had an amazing time out at Grand Junction and Palisade. Gorgeous area of #Colorado with amazing views, cute wineries, and, of course, 🍑s.

Great interview with Kevin Cloutier on The Amp Hour Electronics Podcast this week! I'm just starting to dig into VLAs, so it's great to get a roadmap of what this means in the #robotics world.

I'm genuinely excited for the @huggingface MicroDuck. It's an affordable bipedal walking platform that allows people to play with #ReinforcementLearning algorithms and work on the sim-to-real gap (which, from experience, is quite tricky!).

Anyone need a little advanced math this Friday? I got you covered! The idea of surrogate objective functions confused me, so I decided to spend some time reviewing them in my latest #ReinforcementLearning blog post.

The next #ReinforcementLearning for #robotics video is live! After tackling domain randomization in the previous video, we see how to add commands to the observation to make the balance bot remote controlled.

Finally got around to doing the headphone/speaker switch mod on my #desk 😁
