I think more and more recording every meeting is critical. Literally saved negotiations with our venue for SALT

My therapist warned me to stay away from this girl why do I have to try/care to be everyone’s friend.

I’m sick of OpenAI playing victim about their IP when they literally used millions of copyrighted works to create their models. Can someone tell the thief they don’t get protections for property created through theft.

I told this front desk guy at shipping company I’m trying out not to call me sir and my first name is fine, even told him my preferred name, but he is still calling me sir [dead last-name] and I’ve had it, I need a shipper that delivers and has more respect for their customers.

I think the film would have been just as effective if Paul’s family was not white. An argument can even be made that if the Atreides were cast from Native Americans, it would have given a modern resonance to the attempted extermination of the family, and made their rise to power even more impactful.

The only saving grace is that #dune is a critique of powerful charismatic leaders, and even though many people see Paul as a hero in the film, they misread the actual tragedy of his character. So the film can avoid the white savior trope, yet the optics mean people can easily read it into the film.

As much as I love the #dune films, and been a fan of Timothée Chalamet from the “Call me by your name” days, I still think casting a white actor to play Paul was a mistake. The optics of an entire black and brown culture looking to a white man to be their savior is poor to say the least.

I feel like the vision of decentralized network where people actually own their data is more fully realized and accessible in #bluesky’s implementation, in comparison to #Mastodon which requires you to literally run an entire independent server in order to self-host your own instance.

So server admin stuff. Running a #Mastodon server is actually not a pleasant experience. Mine has been taking up a lot of storage space, and I don’t know why it is so inefficient. My #bluesky personal data server literally only takes up megabytes

Nothing you learn, no idea you come across, no concept you have, is a waste. Learning this, that every thing comes to fruition in its time.

Decentralized computing now!

An interesting perspective considering Amazon has laid off 30,000 corporate employees in the past year as part of an AI efficiency push instead of giving workers 3-day workweeks because AI can do some of their work.

I’m trying to set up my own #ProjectManagement platform with a built-In client portal. So far I’ve installed #Openproject and ERPNext. The latter seems more suited and customizable, but lacks integration with #Nextcloud. Are there any other options that integrate well with #foss software?

My anti-inflammatory oats. Whole oats, blueberries, textured vegetable protein minced, soymilk, cinnamon, turmeric, and olive oil with agave for sweetness. I usually add a pinch of black pepper to activate the turmeric but I’m out.
