We had HDR in the 1970s and 1980s.

This one is special because it was almost certainly the most extreme high frequency luminance ever broadcast in TV history, other than a test pattern / test card.

Tip: Are you watching this in HDR? YouTube's "HD" / "1080p" etc selector will say HDR, but you'll need an iPhone 12 (non-Pro) or better, an iPad M4 or better, or any MacBook with M1 Pro or Max, M2 Pro or Max, any M3 or any M4. Or Android or a TV with all the technically correct setup, but that needs more instructions than a tip.

Something like this seems quite feasible actually. Can I export / view my YouTube playlists on a web client? (I’m comparing to other web clients for Apple Music, that basically plug in to the service and create their whole own website and UI).

I’m already doing this subconsciously but would like it enforced & automatic:

1. Set a time of day at which to begin wind-down to bed — 1 or 2 or 3 hours even
2. From that moment, the last 5 or 15 minutes of viewing is reviewed for the longest video
3. Take that video length
4. The next video suggested or searched must be of a shorter length than that
5. The next video suggested or searched must be of a shorter length than that
6. Repeat for the next 6 hours
Eventually you’ll get to such boring 10-second clips you’ll switch off.

It’s as if no video exists on YouTube anymore that exceeds that length.

It probably needs a 3rd-party YouTube client, but do those even exist?

Hey @marcoarment is this a brand new Hollywood movie in VR format? And if not, shouldn’t it be? Tom Hanks and a some big names would propel this format.

The camera is always locked off, and sometimes the action goes around the sides.

@siracusa John, are you able to explain the difference between a game that exists on PC versus Steam (on Windows) vs XBox Gaming Pass (on a PC) … because Steam also exists on Steamdecks, and this opens the topic of cross-platform gaming.

Presumably XBox Gaming Pass is just a front-end to very different game binaries on PC and XBox hardware — and also I presume each XBox can emulate (just one?) previous XBox hardware — but is Steam cross platform? Does it exist on Android? COULD it exist on Android, for that matter?

Final question, and the point to all this: Is there any technical barrier to running Steam games on iOS and macOS?
