gosh it seems the asbestos automator did not fix the asbestos problem ... maybe we should keep using it

* if the software is undead themed the cemver should be a date in the past.

ok, ok, if you want something that is in keeping with the name and not a shitpost ... you treat the X.Y.Z as a date (year.month.day). ideally a date in the future. and whenever you update the software, you increase that date.

then if the date comes and there's no update we can all say "<project> is dead" and move on.

and someone (even you if you're still around) can revive the project by releasing a new version.

when you want to release a new version of the software, you can change each of the numbers up or down, or keep them the same, according to whatever you think is appropriate. there are no rules other than those we impose on ourselves, and no deeper meaning to our lives than that which we give ourselves. memento mori

i've come up with a new versioning system for software, it's called cemetery versioning (cemver for short. pronounced the same as semver)

the version numbers have the form X.Y.Z where X, Y, and Z are natural numbers. there is no meaning attached to any of the numbers.

LLMs, generative AI, and general AI, are all attempts to objectify the skills and creativity of the working class. This is a direct attack on our livelihoods.

the ideal puzzle game has no undo button. not only that, if you make a mistake, it kills you. in real life

in any case the second route has been super helpful because i was running out of Caustic Solution trying to get rid of all the Chlorine byproduct caused by the Caustic Solution production . . . you can see why this would be a problem. now I have a way to deal with too much Chlorine. I just wouldn't expect the solution to come from the same mineral that caused the problem.

it's kinda strange that you can turn Crushed Bauxite into Sludge in two completely different ways. you can either:

- mix it with Caustic Solution (= Sodium Hydroxide + Water, i.e. a base) in order to get Sludge + Aluminum Hydroxide (this is part of the process to getting aluminum stuff).

- crush it again to get Mineral Dust and mix it with Hydrochloric Acid in order to get Sludge.

chat is this real?? what is Sludge anyway??

the old man and shopkeep are in cahoots. the old man gives out the swords for free, and the shopkeep sells you an extremely expensive blue ring that doubles your defence. the old lady is also suspiciously selling potions and heart containers. nobody is dealing with the actual problem that keeps them all in business.

"it's dangerous to go alone, take this sword" you know what might make it dangerous to go alone ... an abundance of swords

the real villain of the zelda series is the old man in a cave that gives swords to passing youths

oh no ... it turns out i can play factorio on my laptop

which advice is better

programming as a medium of communication between programmers. between collaborators, between dependencies and their dependents, between an author and their audience, between an educator and their students, etc

even when we say that a program controls the machine, what we are saying is that the programmer is accessing routines left by other programmers working on a lower level. communicating asynchronously with past programmers. all programming is communication.
