cool cool. https://nypost.com/2026/10/22/business/getty-images-files-for-bankruptcy-amid-mounting-debt-ai-competition/

it's infuriating how ignorant the AI guys are. they don't do anything but Administer Business and Make Money. they don't know how to make anything, they don't watch movies or read books. they watch sports and talk about AI on LinkedIn. they won't miss human creativity because their lives are empty of it. also they're richer than you, they're richer than all of us. Senators take their calls.

Reign of the Stupid Assholes.

a thing i don't see mentioned much about generative AI is that it can't make anything new. basically by definition. no one is even arguing this point, but they're also ignoring the implications. replace all the graphic designers, musicians, writers, and coders with LLM output and what? we just stay in ~2024 forever? everything is a scrap book for the rest of our lives?

like, this is **exactly** what the centrist/clintonian Dems have been accusing the left of for **decades**

like, imagine if Bernie Sanders said "i'd rather we lose the House by 5 than win by 5 because if that happens, they're hostage to the Blue Dogs."

oh my god he admit it.

the thing is, either it's fair use and you are using someone else's content to make something new, so it's YOUR content that YOU are liable for; or you are presenting content that is not yours, which means that you're not liable for it's claims, but you ARE stealing. one or the other.

pst hey the United States is already televising public executions. hundreds of them. the executions are extrajudicial and take place in the Caribbean and the Pacific. the executioner is the US Navy. the executions are broadcast on the White House's X account.

I love the new White House press secretary. I'm an accelerationist when it comes to Trump admin staff, I want him to pick the dumbest, most clownishly-corrupt smoothbrains in existence. hell yeah lmao

I don't think a disability is a good reason to vote against a candidate for office, unless it's an age-related disability. you're above the official Social Security retirement age and now you have some debilitating illness that impacts how you present yourself and represent your constituents in public, and you still want to be reelected?? sorry, that's just poor judgment and egoism.

I know Susan Collins sounds frail because she has essential tremor, but imo that's a good reason to vote for someone other than a 73-year-old. she's had it for years, it's only now that anyone noticed because she's **very old**. a Senate term is **six years** she's too old to do this job.

and it's the kind of stuff in this article. a data center here, a port there, a smelter, a pipeline, and suddenly there's no food or clothing. we're really in a perilous position.

I kind of think an all-out WWIII would knock us back to like the 1800s, technologically speaking. the global energy/supply chain is so sprawling, and drones are so cheap to make and hard to stop, that an all-out war would bring our civilization down, possibly permanently. **billions** would starve. https://www.reuters.com/investigates/special-report/iran-crisis-infrastructure-attacks/

IT'S HAPPENING lol. https://www.reuters.com/legal/litigation/characterai-files-bankruptcy-agrees-sell-some-assets-disney-20-million-2026-10-13/

someone inform the Ed Zitron haters. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2026/oct/13/ai-share-crash-risk-global-imf-debt-corrowing-cyber-attacks

Jacobin is a shit magazine. the editors have bad judgment and probably still hang out on X melting their brains and practicing horseshoe theory.

man I fucking hate this. I read "Lonesome Dove" recently. really enjoyed it, ripping good tale. but as a white male fantasy from 1985 about What The West Was Like, it sucks ass. it's racist as fuck and does absolutely nothing to ask why the American West became a hateful, violent place full of evil, desperate men. it's a political work of the 1980s, and it's **very** much of its time. straight of out the conservative imagination. https://jacobin.com/2026/10/lonesome-dove-reading-novels-men

people on Bluesky are saying "Zionist" is anti-semitic, and ok, maybe it is the way Certain People use it, but genuine question: then what's the correct word for the political position of supporting the genocide of Palestine? it's obviously not Jews; "Israelis" has the problem that lots of Israelis **don't** support the genocide, plus it doesn't include Americans and Christian freaks like Mike Huckabee. I feel like Zionists is still a pretty accurate word that covers all the characters, right??

psychotic

so, hearing about this particular incident was kind of joker-fying for me. these specific guys got caught because they are clowns, not because a sophisticated investigation discovered them. i really, really wonder how much of this stuff is going on. lotta convenient suicides recently!! https://www.france24.com/en/france/20260330-french-masonic-lodge-at-heart-of-murky-murder-trial
