I would go for the top. Tony Bispeskov (Head of communication) or the ceo. It could be in the interest of dsb to participate/assist. However they have a lot of problems right now (not only Talgo) so they may not wish to be involved in anything that can expose them any further. You can find him on LinkedIn.

And ind the end we reached Hamburg. Only about 3 hours late.

Finally Dortmund. Only half en hours wait. I wonder if there is room in the delayed ICE106?

And know the whole travel planning goes to 💩. Train cancelled from Dortmund. Looks like at least 2 hours delay. Depending on how many other trains are cancelled. Someone in the train said “Scheissbahn“

The luck didn’t last. At least I know I’m going to catch the train to Hamburg.

Also punctual departure. Cologne/Kőln will be the test. We have to get out at Ehrenfeld and take the S-bahn for Haubtbahnhoff. Additionally the ICE train takes a slower route between Achen and Cologne/Kőln. 🤞

And arrived in Bruxelles. Now it is over to DB

Returning from London. Let’s see if this trip will be as challenging as the outbound trip?
First leg is St Pancras to Bruxelles with the Eurostar.
Why is boarding so inefficient? Only one door pr carriage. Our ticket says carriage 5 then seat 87-88. It would have been much more efficient to enter at carriage 6. On top of that we have the sideline like boarding and passport control.

We did reach London! Only 25 minutes late.

And it ended with 45 min delay. And a fast change for Eurostar at Bruxelles Midi. Somehow we made it.
Last train to London out of Bruxelles this evening.
Let’s see if this actually make it to London.

Arrived at Achen 10 min ahead of schedule. Now 30 min after we are still waiting. Now we minutes delayed. #bahn

And 0 minutes to change in Kőln. The ICE14 was ready to depart with locked doors when our train arrived. Luckily they waited 1 min more and let us onboard. Phew 😥

Hm. Now at Dortmund. Somehow the train is now running 30 min late. It seems to be related to congestion at stations. Should still be possible to catch ice14 in Kőln.

Anyway, despite plenty of time to change trains. I will be very relieved when I’m in the Eurostar bound for London. /3

This is not the original plan. Before our journey DB changed the schedule and we had to find another connection. I had to spend quite some time even finding out what is possible or not. Would it eg be OK to catch the Eurostar in Amsterdam rather than Brux?
I think the answer is that depends on Eurostar curtesy. Why is cross border trains so difficult? /2

Some of the tramlines in Gent seams to be closed/paved over. I hope this is just temporary for renovation, but it is worrying too see. Especially because the alternative (busses on cobbled streets) are unpleasant and noisy.
