So tired of all the AI generated #retrocomputing stuff. Kind of sucks the fun out of it for me :/

This guy’s mission is to give LLMs access to every little corner of the Internet. So there is nowhere to go to avoid them. Why?

Daniel Berntsson, co-founder of #Mullvad VPN is the major supporter of the fascist Örebropartiet. He donated 5 million SEK, 70% of their annual income.

Just so you know, that if you were their customer as me, we contributed to this.

It upsets me a lot as I liked their product, I think it's the best VPN service out there. I know it was a private donation and it doesn't represent the whole company, but I can't stomach subscribing to it any longer. #MullvadVPN

It’s done! All components were migrated, the caps replaced. The CR2032 holder fits perfectly and the metal shielding can be closed on it too. The 470 ohm resistor was replaced with a diode to prevent the charging current to the battery. Seems to work fine. #amiga #retroComputing

My son had a math exam yesterday. The exam turned out to be AI generated. It contained two exercises with number 7, things they didn’t even cover, and several other mistakes. When the kids pointed it out the teacher admitted that ”ChatGPT made some mistakes”. Even their homework is now spit out by genAI.

People are lazy and going to use this shit everywhere to cut work. Resulting in low effort and low quality all around.

Got this t-shirt from my daughter for my birthday 😅

From the time when games came with manuals. Explaining even the mechanics and aerodynamics of helicopters! I loved this game as a kid, even though never learned to succeed in it, but I appreciate it even more now as an adult. Such an amazing work of art. #amiga #RetroComputing #retrogaming

The first thing many do is to replace #Workbench 1.3 as soon as possible. I decided to embrace it and make old blue nicer and more useful instead. Here is a not yet exhaustive list of my favourite tools, utils and programs.

Music without streaming services. Found this Sony #Discman under 10€ on eBay and #CDs are cheaper than ever nowadays. #physicalmedia #offlinemusic #cdwalkman #Katatonia

Anyone had success making #macstodon work on System 7.1? Installed it on my Classic II. I have a WebOne proxy running on a RPi, with the mastodon server’s hostname added to the ForceHTTPs section. I can reach the url from Netscape, so I guess the proxy works as it should, but when trying to authenticate with Macstodon it still says that it’s unreachable and I should check my proxy settings. #macintosh #RetroComputing

My son liked to post his pixelart on Pixel Studio's Pixel Network and apparently the dev just changed the terms and conditions so that the art you publish can become part of a training dataset for a new AI pixel-art generation app. You can’t even opt-out if you’re using the mobile app. They also started allowing AI art to be posted.

My son is so demotivated by this.

That's how you kill creativity. And I really hope your business too.

Well, the BlueSCSI v2 kit arrived faster than expected and assembling and setting it up took less than 2 hours. Playing around with all its features will definitely take more. Good stuff! #retrocomputing #vintagemac #macintosh

I got a Macintosh Performa 200 (aka Classic II) pretty cheap. It’s dirty in and out and barely worked when it arrived. It took minutes for it to power on, so it badly needs a recap. Both the logic board and the analog board looks servicable and the battery luckily didn’t leak. I’m going to give it an extensive refit. #macintosh #performa #RetroComputing #macintoshclassic
