can't interact with a public post from someone I follow because it responds to a person who I've literally never seen before, but somehow has me blocked (or maybe it's their instance?). Thanks sharkey, very cool, why even bother showing that on the home feed then?

I need some help with ffmpeg :boost_appreciated:

TL;DR: I have videos recorded with the screenrecorder of my phone that have a rotation in the stream_side_data, and I cannot figure out how to remove that with ffmpeg.

ffprobe can read the sidedata: ffprobe -loglevel error -select_streams v:0 -show_entries stream_side_data=rotation -of default=nw=1:nk=1 -i fgo.suzuka120.mp4

I already tried -c copy -metadata:s:v:0 rotate=0 with ffmpeg, but this simply copies the side data intact, incl. the rotation. Unfortunately search engines have been entirely unhelpful here.

Example video can be found here: https://vhs.absturztau.be/w/obEStDc9Fw75KefX7safUr (480p and below are reencoded, oriented as expect, while 720p is original quality and is rotated incorrectly)

I'll be the bigger person and not actually repost the thread from last night. I have chosen to send a report on the blatant transphobia exhibited towards me and I will leave it at that, with the offer to delete my replies should they wish to unblock me and apologize. If not that's that and I am done engaging.

My opinion stays the same: altbot as it is right now is a tool that encourages putting less effort into accessbility by generating descriptions with AI and posting these with no oversight or correcting. This kind of thing has already made YouTube subtitles entirely useless and if that happens to alt text on here too this is a loss for everyone.

Saying things like writing alt text leading to "cyber psychosis" and "being a cunt is not a transition milestone" has made it very clear that the person I replied to is not willing to engage in discussions about this and is solely focused on this being "allowed" because it's locally hosted by a trans person, as if being queer automatically excuses any wrongdoing.

I'd like to state again that using such a locally hosted AI can be used ethically, but this requires human oversight and correction, which too many people skip, hence me being against the use of this technology in this case. You should put effort into accessibility, it benefits everyone, not just disabled folk. Providing slop as a replacement is not helpful, or do you enjoy sitting through a screen reader reading danbooru tags to you for 15 minutes and having to recreate the content of an image from that?

This is separate from any other ethical or economic impacts of AI; incl. the fact that this technology in general has taken all of my skillset, leading to me being unemployed and having to accept being abused for cheap labour just so I can earn an income and survive. Nevermind that localization already is a pretty shit job, but it would have been an interesting side occupation from time to time, especially in videogame development. I no longer have any chances of getting hired for web development, as a frontend can already be produced cheaper via slop machine and I'm burned out from all the effort I put into it in the past.
