i feel really proud of myself because i went out and got tasks done even though its cold and dark and wet

unfucked today pretty good:

- woke up early enough to shower and go to the post office to return stuff
- found the missing part of my soldering iron so i don't have to buy a new one
- bulk order of cheap resistors arrives, and they measure in tolerance
- delightful cutlery drainers so i can wash dishes in bulk

i should probably remember i bought this as an ebook reader and not to edit code on

iPad opinion: Star Trek and Tron lied about the feasibility of touch typing on glass

i just looked around my room and everything had a really strong green tint. i looked away and then back again a few seconds later, and my vision is back to normal

i love the kind of "moderate" pro-israel guy where their thesis is that they claim to want peace for Palestinians, but then also agree with every single premise of the ideology that leads to the extermination of palestinians, claim that even correctly naming said ideology is antisemetic, that accurately describing israeili behavior is antisemetic, and claim that any jews who don't wholeheartedly agree with them are "extremists", "fringe" etc and somehow don't count

That thread where I experimented with claude and it broke instantly is doing the rounds again, and it made a hasbara guy upset. good lol

I want to be at BLFC but I can't because of the Atlantic ocean

Runaway to the stars is so behind on updates that I'm actually worried about Jay Eaton

ok so someone on bsky i respect made a valid point about LLMs: you have to keep up to date with what they're like, so that you can form more informed arguments against them. that otherwise you might say something outdated, be easily disproved, and make everyone against LLMs look bad

to that end, I just talked to claude. check this out

entering my fvwm era

i think a big reason why windows users are cowards is they don't set hostnames. like what machine are you using right now? "DESKTOP-SF4QPPJ2"? weak

hang out with someone you haven't seen in a few months. go somewhere you haven't been in a couple months. go somewhere you've never been ever. buy a cheap antique. take advantage of a cheap repeat showing of a classic film. have a conversation with a stranger. just go outside a couple of times a week and things are good

what i'm finding this month is that my overall happiness is better if i allow myself some frivolities and experiences

holy shit Waterfox doubled down on bringing back the feed bookmarking and added a full-fledged READER to the browser: https://www.waterfox.com/releases/6.7.5/?update
