Toby Manhire talks to Nicky Hager about his new book about the Taxpayers Union

I've been hacking on the #Wikipedia Cite Q template, which lets you cite a #WikiData item with just one parameter. Let me know on the talk page if you have a laundry list of features, or bugs or annoyances you'd like fixed. I'm currently getting it to figure out first and last names of authors and editors, which has been itching my gears for years.

I'm thinking I will sneak out today for a quick excursion to the nearby Musée de la Musique, over by the Philharmonique #wikimania2026 #wikimania #lilypond

@aharoni I'm not sure what all the exact protocol is on Phabricator, but I moved some tickets to "In Progress" so I could get at them, not sure if that's the right thing to do... if you have time, could you have a look at my Gerrit patches - they're very small! One for an inline <span> display option, and an undocumented attribute.

Today at Wikimania I found out about Terrence & Elizabeth Eden's OpenBenches project, and noted that three memorial benches I know of in Pukerua Bay are not listed. Photo trek when I get home!

@bvibber @wikimediaaotearoa @wikipedia_fr well it was nice to meet a few new folks! Managed to get a couple of patches in for the Score extension, to fix SVG backgrounds in dark mode and possibly fix SVG in WikiSource PDF exports.

@bvibber @wikimediaaotearoa @wikipedia_fr is anyone else here at the Wikimania Hackathon interested in hacking on the MediaWiki Score music notation extension? We've just deployed my SVG patch, but it would be cool to fix up some other stuff. I'm floating around in a purple Ubuntu 10.04 T-shirt 😃

Finally, a 13-year-old feature request has been deployed to Wikipedia: the music notation extension, that uses LilyPond, now does proper good SVG output! 🎵 Behold, the music examples in the tuba article, recently reviewed to Good Article status:

While I've been waiting for the "Good Article" review process on the Wikipedia tuba article to complete, I've snazzed up its references and Bibliography section. Happy to help anyone else with the various templates involved, e.g. to get chapters as sub-headings of books. Have a look, here.

Daffodils have shot up and are about to flower. The plum and apple trees are blossoming, and they haven't even lost all their leaves. In May.

It's King's Birthday this weekend, which means there's a massive national board game convention on in Wellington. See you there! I'm bringing along SETI and Endeavour: Deep Sea
