@atpfm And I’ve just learned that @marcoarment has returned to Twitter.
That does it for me with the show.
I'll miss @siracusa’s thoughts.

You see, the thing about principles is that you need to hold to them not just when it's convenient. If you only reject LLM use when the results are bad but jump on board when the output suits you, you’re telling me that the externalities were never truly the issue. You just liked hearing yourselves say it. (2/2)
@atpfm
There's a German saying “wessen Brot ich fress, dessen Lied ich sing” - “whose bread I eat, their song I sing” and it comes as no surprise that the Claude sponsorship money is starting to shape the tunes. It may not be the dominant reason for @atpfm's turn towards LLM endorsement and perhaps their journey would have been the same without it. I sure wished for more resistance. (1/2)
I’ve just made a little paper cutout to get a feel for its size and this seems like a great successor to my beloved mini 13. Thicker and a little wider, but also shorter. Certainly smaller than all the other offerings.
Not cheaper though 😬
I like how the iPhone Duo endorses DIN paper sizes. It doesn’t quite match any of them directly, just its aspect ratio.
At 118mm × 165mm (unfolded) it falls between A5 and A6 and folded between A6 and A7.
That iPhone Duo opening transition explains a lot about Liquid Glass…
Copy and paste 😻😻
So we’ve got a heatwave here in France (again, well over 30C) and our cat Hobbes was “outside” all day from 8am until 5pm. As he saunters in I walk over to check and him and bloody hell, his fur is •cold to the touch•
That little rascal has found himself a secondary home with the AC set way lower than the 26C that I’m rocking here.
What a way to find out your cat is unfaithful 🥲
That was me, I went to bed at halftime. You’re welcome everyone!
Burning the planet while chasing the illusion of clawing back a couple percentage points of efficiency while losing >10% to a pointless commute. What are we even doing here.
I keep hearing on podcasts about AI dudes bragging “I’m doing all this stuff with Claudex on my phone during my commute” and all I can think is “mate, why are you commuting”.
Regulating children instead of social media providers is as if you required cyclists to wear helmets instead of building safe infrastructure.
Oh wait.
The haptics on scroll don’t just give off a gentle vibration but also make a purring noise. It is quite pleasant though, so still 5 stars.
My new wireless cat is amazing
This is the welcome I receive when I come back from shopping. Love him to bits 😻😻😻
PS: The app is €5 but the checkout page allows you to pay more and you should make generous use of that!
I'd bought @nileane's TinyStart on launch to support it but I didn't think I'd actually be able to use it. Because switching launchers is hard and because I use my launcher Raycast for more than launching apps.
Turns out, not only is TinyStart more than an app launcher, it also covers everything I •actually• used from Raycast. And it does it without all the AI nonsense 👌
It's a lovely, well-made indie app. Give it a try!
As we’re approaching summer and the days are getting warmer, it’s important to keep your cats in appropriate containers or they’ll spill on your carpet when they turn liquid.
Any pointers for a Mac app to draw simple floor plans?
What I'm looking to do is making drawing floor plans for our #TTRPG a little easier.
Doesn't need to be super fancy or have a lot of bells and whistles. Just a little more than the basic vector drawing programs I've been going with so far.
Could have some standard options for stairs and doors and perhaps basic furniture, for instance.
Doesn't need to be free but also shouldn't be super pricey.
Any ideas?
