#Caturday When many people think of cats they think of graceful animals. And then there is Yama, who probably fits some stereotype of a chonky American cat.

#PhotoOfTheDay is our two kitchen prayer candles, in honor of the last episode of the Ted Lasso season that we watched last night.

These two are very appropriate for the language that sometimes comes from our kitchen. 😅

California just approved "balcony solar" starting January 1st so signed up with Bright Saver and reserved a kit that promises to be certified for CA use. I plan to get a 360W kit.

I already have about that same wattage in solar panels, but they are designed for portable use and not for plugging into house power, and primarily for charging batteries.

It's #Caturday and Yama loves churus, or maybe I should say Yama loves pretty much any treato she's given. She gets one of these a day (as well as a "purr pop") and she Is suddenly very aware of what time it is if there is food involved.

#PhotoOfTheDay is Rush live on stage back in 2015 in San Jose. Good times. And the revised group is doing another tour now, good for them.

It's #Caturday and Yama fits so she sits. She's a very big girl, so she doesn't always fits! 😁

#PhotoOfTheDay is a fun binary plaque that I discovered in one of the Santa Clara (aka Silicon Valley) county parks while geocaching. I won't spoil it for you by converting it to ASCII for you. :)

It's #Caturday and once again Yama has crashed out on the rug and I have to resist the temptation to draw a chalk outline around her. 😁

#Caturday is an oooooold photo of our old cat "Creepy" who decided that she wanted to get online with me and see what was so damn interesting to me.

Creepy was my favorite cat ever. I was trying to find some other old photos when I stumbled across this one.

It's funny how dated all the hardware is from over 20 years ago, although I still have the Yaesu VX-5R stored away and it works fine to this day.

Got a very cool QSL card in today's mail. I always love when these little surprises show up!

#PhotoOfTheDay Street musician, in the small old town touristy area of Newport on the Oregon coast. He was really good!

#PhotoOfTheDay is of a haul of classic sci-fi paperbacks I picked up on another Oregon road trip, from 2 or 3 different used book shops including Tsunami Books in Eugene and Robert's Book Shop in Lincoln City, as shown the previous couple of days. Good stuff here!

#photo #photography #scifi #books #oregon #RoadTrip

#photoOfTheDay continues the Oregon used bookshop theme from yesterday, with my favorite of all: Robert's Bookshop in Lincoln City, on the Oregon coast.

It's a very large, packed and meandering maze of a place. I think I *might* have escaped without buying a book once... But usually I get a stack of things, some of which I can't find elsewhere. This photo shows perhaps 40% of their #scifi section.

#PhotoOfTheDay is of the cat book cart mural on the wall outside Tsunami Books in Eugene, Oregon.

It's an excellent books store with both new & used books, and it's very well curated. They have live evening events too. Definitely one of my favorites.

@tiefling Saw on Fb, thought of you. :)

#PhotoOfTheDay is of the old cowboy sign for the Safeway supermarket in Lakeview, Oregon, which is in the SE corner of the state near the CA border on Hwy 395.

Not to be confused with the Lakeview or Lake County in California.

I checked google street view and this sign has been repainted since this photo was taken on our week-long road trip in 2006. The style has been updated, but I liked it like this. :)

#PhotoOfTheDay is an amusing sign on the Big Island of Hawaii, seen below the visitor center on the way up to the top of Muana Kea. The gift shop sold (and probably still sells) items with this sign on them.

I have made a habit of snapping photos of amusing or interesting signs over the years and now have quite a lot, so there will be a bunch of signs here over the next couple of weeks.
