i really like PHP. in my experience, its full of insane issues and functions called "doThingSecurely_final_FINAL". but it's a tool, like excel or hypercard, that lets a normal person make Web without years becoming a Web Developer. you could just throw it onto a server and make a view counter or whatever. just mash it in there in the HTML for some basic dynamic feature on an otherwise-static page. wow! then 'Developers' ruined it, like with javascript, by trying to use it to make actual software

The first symptoms are manifested in an almost unbelievable forgetfulness.

someone should invent a search engine where if you put in two keywords it finds pages that have both the keywords

Computers were not a mistake.

The Internet was not a mistake.

The mistake was allowing everything to be about money and power rather than community building.

Set `session.upload_progress.enabled=0` until the next PHP release to block an unlikely RCE vector (CVE-2026-115560).

We already recommended this for CVE-2026-109619 from Wednesday: keep it disabled.

Only applications with non-default `serialize_handler` switching it to `php` at runtime can be affected.

There is more information in the advisory on the PHP website by the PHP security team: https://www.php.net/archive/2026.php#2026-10-23-1

communists just want to take away your stuff and control your life and make you miserable, with capitalism you have the freedom to:

- rent your house
- rent your car
- rent your phone
- rent your computing/storage
- rent your music
- rent your movies
- rent your books
- rent your games
- rent your right to be slightly less spied upon
