If you are considering buying a new Kindle, friendly reminder that we have been stuck on 300ppi resolution since 2014 and the E-Ink market is a monopoly. If your old one still works, it may not be worth to upgrade to a new edition that will be harder to jailbreak. If you need a redesigned version for things like connections etc, you can check the different Kobos. They are easier to hack and repair
Hugh Howey created NEO, a #writing software for authors. Clean interface. Shortcuts are minimal but useful. It generates temporary covers (Howey insists on the temporary nature of those) without AI. I dislike the fact that has an AI API option for covers too. The app has a MIT license, I decided to share it because maybe somebody could make a fork #bookstodon #books https://youtu.be/_K-ExOiEv40?si=YGgR9wCl5zzyzKki https://github.com/hughhowey/neo

#monsterdon Bro your foreplay is too specialized. May I suggest something a bit more vanilla
Friendly reminder that the reader view button in #Firefox can bypass many soft paywalls of big publications. You're welcome.

Luego dale a aplicar cambios. Y a respirar.
I have a honest to God question for coders and programmers. What is GenAI *actually* useful for, if any? I mean, if errors will happen no matter how hard you place guardrails, is there anything of value applied to coding? I'm not a coder and I oppose the use of GenAI on the arts, but I am genuinely curious about this because it is not my area of expertise. Thoughts? #coding #AI #genai #programming

I sometimes wonder where would we be as society without the constant threat of data centers and Orange Rapist. I would be probably spending that time on TTRPGs, watching figure skating or astronaut stuff. Things that I already do, but at least I would have more mental space for them
