Well done Brazil and Serbia.
Makes a nice change to wake up to good news doesn't it.

They ended up getting dinner at four twenty instead of five, because I'm nominally the smarter organism and I don't have a fucking clue what time it's supposed to be either
Why has no one ever designed a pack of just normal sized sticking plasters? Why do they all have half a dozen gigantic ones in, so you use all the reasonably sized ones and end up with a drawer full of comically enormous ones? Is it all a conspiracy by Big Big Plaster?

Depiction of characters under the age of 16 in porn is being banned, but school uniform isn't. Yes there could be some bad faith arguments that some sixth forms retain uniform for 17 and 18 year olds, but let's be honest school uniform serves as a market that someone is under 16 90% of the time.

Not saying I've conclusively proved the backfire effect here, but I've just been listening to a podcast about lead contamination in cinnamon and it's left me desperately craving cinnamon tea.
Not quite #ThickTrunkThursday, maybe Indestructible Stem Thursday? This bramble shoot got hooked up over a willow side branch, both the trunk and branch continued expanding until they fused over the bramble but the bramble stayed alive now passing through the living tree.
New instance, new #introduction time
Hi, I'm Caitlin, she/her. I'm turning 42 in about two weeks. From Connecticut but lived in Indiana for the last decade. Don't recommend it. I'm bi, trans, polyamorous, raise a now teenager.
I like roleplaying games and haven't actually played D&D 5e yet.
I like knitting. I stopped for a while and am relearning a fair bit. I think the cable pattern is the most I've done.
Like some anime, was an A24 schmuck. Tries to be helpful, bad at follow up.
Hi!
Today I learned that the gargantuan tub of petroleum jelly I ordered for valid scientific purposes has vanished somewhere between the university postroom and Biosciences, so presumably that will turn up with my name on looking highly suspicious at some point in the future to much sniggering
A scuff on your bag, a dent in your mug – and suddenly it feels like time for a new one
"The results suggested that people who strongly preferred flawless items had more elaborate ideas about what their ideal product was and were sensitive to even small deviations from those ideas. Their standards also kept rising. Seeing something better than what they owned could raise the bar further for them."
You know those stupid android merge games that exist to show you adverts and harvest your data? I presume there are people out there just making them for fun not to harvest your data and show you adverts, and if those people exist they're on here. Has anyone made one or can recommend one?
My friend just handed me a book and said "I just finished this, it's about climate change and the end of the world and has one of the worst sex scenes I've ever read in, you'll love it."

See the shitty thing about being an elder millennial is chronologically I have to accept I'm at least middle aged if not old, but I'm still financially precarious enough to feel like part of The Youth in contrast to the financially established Older People
There's a poll going round the Fedi at the moment about whether you would be able to use an AED/defibrillator on a woman having a heart attack and a lot of people are commenting they'd let the trained person who brought it use it. In the UK at least you don't need to wait for ambulance staff to bring it, they're in lots of public locations like stations, shopping centres and churches. In an emergency if you're on the phone to the ambulance service they will tell you where the nearest one is, but if you want to familiarise yourself with the locations of nearby ones just to be prepared you can see them here: https://www.defibfinder.uk/
I think my favourite genre of alt text is on photos of cats sleeping in odd positions where the author goes "Yeah this is my cat, I am familiar with their habits and can confirm they have the normal number of limbs and regular feline anatomy, and even I can't work out what's going on here"
The grass is green again, but it's still pretty worrying underground. Severe drought declared in six areas of England as reservoirs run low
Does anyone know how to delete your saved cards from Stripe as a customer, not a business account?
