@quephird I think you'll like this velvet dress I designed in Dressmaker for one of the story commissions.

One of those weird thoughts I just had. I wonder if anyone has done a study in the prevalence of migraines in people who designed and studied VR systems.

Because I'm kinda wondering now what was the impact of using all of those weird hacky displays back when I was in my teens and early twenties.

hey $MSFT, I have a crisp $10 bill (paper!) with your name on it, just hand over Xbox and I’ll take care of the rest, no sweat

anyway I just think that this cycle where everyone is constantly under threat of - or have already lost - their livelihoods, is not a system we should have to accept

I'll probably do something about it someday, but today is not that day.

It's funny where the boundaries between fun and work reside.

I've been playing around with OpenComputers II and Sedna again recently, and upon seeing that busybox was built with ip tunnel enabled, I wanted to use it to play around with some more complicated network topologies. (I learn better through doing and being able to see how things relate to each other, so this seemed perfect for the task. Other networking simulators have felt a bit too abstract to me, whereas this feels closer to an actual physical networking lab setup.)

Turns out that while the image has the userspace part, the kernel wasn't built with the appropriate kernel options to actually use that functionality.

Now I'm completely capable of downloading the Sedna buildroot fork and adding it myself, but my brain insists that's work stuff, and I shouldn't be doing work stuff on the weekend.

Oh wow, almost 1 in 4 US GenZ adults identities as LGBTQ+, while the rate is a bit greater than 1 in 7 for millennials.

That's quite a big jump. Makes you wonder if the percentages for GenAlpha is going to be even higher, or is it going to stabilize at 1 in 4.

My money is on higher, assuming the conservative backlash of the last few years doesn't scare more people into the closet.

This is so fucking typical.

A company makes a special exception for a certain transmisic billionaire's garbage and almost disturbs a bronze age burial site in the process.

All so Harry Potter fans can still leave shit at an environmentally sensitive site.

It just strikes me odd that there is so much creepypasta set in Ohio. It feels like there are way more than most other states, except perhaps Alaska.

Meanwhile, Florida doesn't have as nearly as you would expect from a state with a reputation for being a major weirdness magnet.

If anything weird just happened from my account (2/13/2026 at 6:30ish GMT), I spilt an entire glass full of water on my desk and keyboard, and hotkeys activated while I was trying to wipe off the water.

I think the only thing that happened was that I boosted a post that I would have boosted anyway, but just FYI.

I don't think anyone was accidentally muted, unfollowed, or blocked based on my quick skim of the lists, but let me know if I did.

Imagine if someone invented a teleporter, but it could only teleport soup.

Anything else never arrives at it's destination.

Do you still eat the suspicious soup?

I really want soup.

Kind of annoyed that ever since the update, hovering over server emoji doesn't magnify them.

That was such a useful accessibility feature.

TFW you can't tell if the person misidentified something in a photo, or if the alt-text is AI generated.

Micro center at night kinda looks like they painted the lighting on and used a weird brush

Any recommendations for a pocket multimeter?

Doesn't need to be super fancy, use-case is mostly DC voltage checks and continuity measurements. Being able to put it in a pocket and not get stabbed by the probes is the main feature I need.

I'd like to stay under $50, but would be willing to entertain the idea of a higher priced multimeter if there is a compelling reason.

Flukes are not an option, in order to prevent confusion.

being a trans person trying to do anything very often feels like telling the government how to do their own fucking job

TFW your brain gets too tired to continue to draft an over-complicated and niche silly-post.

I'm honestly surprised that Saudi Arabia is actually building the Line.

I thought it would be another vaporware megaproject like all the arcology mega-structures that were announced for Tokyo since the late 80s.
