Struggling to cope with the word “sheath” being used in normal, non furry, non horny conversation.

Taking a sick day and going back to sleep, I feel exhausted somehow. Hopefully I get good rest from this though, still wanna have a good afternoon and evening

having used llms before for work, i have first hand experience of the effects they have on your mind, especially if you use them for creation (like writing code)

they're addictive gambling machines, even if you know they are. they can't be used responsibly. after stopping with their use for work, i noticed myself reaching for them. it took me months to fully recover. there was also very noticeable skill atrophy

i knew of the many issues, but these things work on your monkey brain, they're very hazardous

if you use them and you're not forced to use them, stop using them. they are not worth it in any way. if you can't stop using them for work, try to avoid them outside of work as much as possible. harm reduction is a valid strategy

this technology needs to be eliminated, there is no way to salvage it

and this is me focusing on the psychological issues, there are way more severe social and ethical issues with it

“It’s a poor worksman who blames his tools” has always been complete nonsense. No-one complains about imperfect tools faster and louder than a master. A master will yank a cheap or damaged tool out of your hand and yell at you for not blaming it yet

Cheap, lousy tools come from middle managers who don’t know how to do your job. Blame the hell out of poor tools and those who demand you use them

Finding more previous spooky season stuff, a stretchy slime monster skunk!

Computers were not a mistake.

The Internet was not a mistake.

The mistake was allowing everything to be about money and power rather than community building.

Have you had your face squashed lately? 🙌🏾

Been having network weirdness with my desktop's NIC, but given it's a 50ft Cat5e cable with a coupler to another 15? 20? foot long cable before hitting the switch, I suspect it's cable issues causing the weird 1Gbit -> 100Mbit drops. Got a new 75ft Cat6 cable coming to replace it with and hopefully have MUCH more stable a network connection.

a reminder that if you see a vendor having an unscheduled outage today to apply PHP patches - that is actually one of the most encouraging things you can see from an #infosec perspective, because it means

A) someone/some people at the vendor is paying attention

B) that person/people has enough sway to have them bring down prod in the middle of the day to apply patches

C) enough people at the vendor actually know what software they are running to know its an issue that needs to be dealt with

So, reach out to them and let them know you appreciate it - so they have something to show people who push back the next time a similar thing happens

good coffee at the macro cafe

No more calling yourself gay trash and obliterating your self esteem. You are a gay treasure.
No more calling meals a slop bowl and possibly echoing what racists call ethnic food. That is a gem bowl. A bowl meal.
Come. Let us enjoy wonderful food and company together.

@morph But, alas.

I have to ask, are most of you don't watch streams? Because it's very less people come and see me in stream. It's kinda make me wonder if I do twitch later, it might work...

gawd I remember the second furry I ever met IRL after finding the fandom was this gay dude that I remember feeling ick by and around them when they said "women are just, disgusting!"

and this was back in 2003

and now being transfemme myself it still gives me that same ick.
