Most of the #news accounts I followed in the Great Twitter Exodus have gone inactive. #fediverse

I've seen hype cycles you people wouldn't believe.

AI in the 1980s, natural language 4GLs, ecommerce, service buses, big data, cloud computing, virtual reality & now GenAI. I watched CTOs quiver with the latest FOMO.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

Time for disillusionment.

One load plan to rule them all
One way to place them
One way to organize them all
and in the dishwasher spray them.

Musk is doing to Telsa what he did to Twitter and DOGE.

Pivot hard right, blow it up and focus on market manipulation.

Telsa, formerly a brand that was the market leader in electrification & helping solve climate change for the betterment of all through technology, is now dead man walking.

Except to the fanboy meme stock traders.

I wont buy a Tesla car, PowerWall or solar because they have stopped innovating & well, <points at musk>

Good to know others are feeling this way too.

I dont remember the 2000s being this bad. Its an entire tech dispossed cohort.

Thanks to @anildash for writing this.

I didnt realize other industry veterans were going though this process as well.

I recently described it as grieving to another industry veteran.

I wonder who else is feeling this way.

Stephan Wolfram has the wonderful sentence “statistics of conventional wisdom” to describe #LLM trained on the Internet in a wonderful article everyone should read:

@pluralistic calls #LLM "plausible sentence generators".

Merge these two wonderfully clear explanatory sentences and you have the perfect description:

"Plausible conventional wisdom generators"

It captures the constraints of LLMs very nicely.

Lol. Apparently #Musk is tired of having his alt right likes being reported by the media.

I used to be able to find stuff I wanted to buy on Google.

Its now just all ad placement. Ads I don't need for stuff I don't want.

When did this happen?

The phrase "it gets worse" shows up way too often in these encounters.

A novice just used #ChatGPT to create terrifyingly sophisticated malware

A self-proclaimed novice says that he created zero-day malware using only ChatGPT. The data mining malware is nearly undetectable.
