The module actually uses 4Mbit chips salvaged from an old SIMM module, and has a footprint for a 16v8 GAL for any misc logic needed to try and get those address lines.

Unfortunately the connector uses all its pins and doesn't have additional address lines, and I wasn't able to track down a source on the motherboard as the DRAM logic seems to go into a custom Bondwell gate array chip.

I did also previously reverse engineer the ram expansion module for these. Will have to populate another one of the PCBs for this new one.

It gives a whopping 2MB total to play with on the 286

My most recently worked on retro project is a Bondwell B310 Plus. I already had a regular B310, but couldn't resist another as I quite like the laptop. The difference is the plus version adds a backlight to the LCD.

Of course the problem with these all is the caps. Especially those by the power section leaking and causing artifacts on the screen.
