From this angle it doesn't look very high but in reality that solitary tree in the middle of the shot stands on a steep ridge commanding amazing views towards the Shropshire hills in the north, the Black Mountains to the south west, and the Malvern Hills to the south east.
I love to sit up there ... when my poor knees can cope with the climb (or more to the point, the descent!)

A window from St Bartholomew's, Richards Castle. And this time it wasn't my cracked camera lens causing the light effect 🤪
Ancient oak tree ... and a tiny little sheep balancing on the fence post 😅

And, thanks to @DrKathyChandler for the heads-up ... #tinybalancingsheep 😁
This is a beautiful song about our interconnectedness.
My mum used to sing it to me when I was a young child. When she suffered a brain injury in 2019 and was lost from us for a while in her broken mind, I would sing it to her as one of many ways to try and reach her 💔

Medieval wall paintings, Norman windows, and an altar lovingly arranged like a still life. This tiny redundant church at Michaelchurch was rather special.

My camera lens is cracked, resulting in this shot. I like the accidental effect too much to wait for #windowsfriday #fensterfreitag so here it is for #SilentSunday and maybe even #spookysunday
Believe it or not, this was nearly midnight at Duloe stone circle, Cornwall, on the last full moon!
Here's a #doorsday pic from St Agnes, Cornwall, with added #bloomscrolling 😁
Ah yes, finally came up with a #folkpunk track for #TuneTuesday #togsandclogs (even if it is a Pixies cover)
Harley Poe - Where is my mind
And if you want to destroy my sweater
Pull this thread as I walk away
Watch me unravel
I'll soon be naked lying on the floor

My first thought for #TuneTuesday #togsandclogs
The Specials - Do Nothing
Each day I walk along this lonely street
Trying to find, find a future
New pair of shoes are on my feet
Cos fashion is my only culture

Does anyone else have to save photos like this as reminders of what "safe place" you've put something??? 🤣
To be fair, this is on a shelf above my eye line!
Major Scobie asks Yusef the Syrian why he calls him a friend, and Yusef replies:
"Friendship is something in the soul. It is a thing one feels. It is not a return for something."
💚
Graham Greene - The Heart of the Matter
I've met some pretty decent police officers in my time (as well as some utter arseholes). I'm not in the US, but this track seems more relevant to ICE these days 😥
Dead Kennedys - Police Truck

#ThickTrunkTuesday eh? Well, since I'm obsessed with ancient trees at the moment, here's a Sweet Chestnut at Croft Castle, probably planted around 1620–1680
This is not one of my recent photos - actually taken April 2025 - but I'd searched them out because I plan to make another visit
And how about this for a #StrangeFirstLine on #TuneTuesday
"I know your antiseptic, your deodorant smells nice"
X-Ray Spex - Germfree Adolescent
https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=OcPT18Yejv8&si=nAgcOYdvnDbvMk0d
Then you've got the more absurd #punk like
Chaotic Dischord - Anarchy in Woolworths
... which starts (and continues!) with "I went into Woolworths to buy some dye, A bloke came up and punched me in the eye" 😅

Oh, okay then, one last #FensterFreitag #WindowFriday
From yesterday's visit to St Cosmas and St Damian Church, Stretford
Also met these guys while I was out on my bike ... had to laugh at the brown one who turned his back on me but then couldn't resist getting his face in the photo 😅
Anyone know what bird this feather comes from? I'm having trouble identifying it.
It's about 15cm long, found on open farmland, next to a river, in UK West Midlands
Forgive me, I'm posting a #tree for #StandingStoneSunday but honestly this one had all the gravitas of an ancient megalith 😁
