Every day news arrives from the US in true “The Mad King said that” style.
I really can’t understand how the Americans, even the Republicans, can keep this disgusting person in office

Statement
#Taiwan

Please don’t take away our Swiss passports just because we eat Taiwanese dark chocolate (which is absolutely delicious and made from Taiwan’s small cocoa production)

A Chinese military attaché handed Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro a note during a security forum in Seoul.

I don’t know Mr Teodoro, I don’t know if he’s a decent person or not, but judging by this video, I’d quite like to go and have a beer with him

It's 2026 and the US are exporting Nazism

Good morning from what may well be the last day of the heatwave that has been affecting my home all summer

1990
West Germans: “Come on, let’s throw billions upon billions of our own money to bring East Germans up to our standard of living”

2026
East Germans: “Hold my lack of interest in liberal democracy and my nostalgia for authoritarianism”

Nationwide in Switzerland, the Green Liberal Party has around 8%. In my canton, Ticino, we received 1.5% of the vote in the last election 😅

Today, I have indeed become vice-president of the cantonal party.
My target for next year’s election is to triple the number of votes. A party which, in this current period, seeks greater openness, a more liberal society and more environmental sustainability... wish me well, we need it 😂

I wonder whether the average American and the intellectual elite are aware that they no longer live in a liberal democracy, and why they carry on as if it were business as usual

I agree 100% with W. David Marx in Blank Space.
As someone who grew up in the 90s, I think calling out a band for selling out is an extremely healthy exercise
